‘Secret Police in Our Streets’: Camouflaged Federal Officers in Unmarked Vans Arrest Protesters in Portland

Federal law enforcement officers clad in camouflage uniforms and body armor — without any visible identification — have been using unmarked vans to grab and detain protesters in Portland. That’s according to reporting by Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB) on Thursday evening.

According to the report, the officers were predominantly sourced from the U.S. Marshals Special Operations Group and Customs and Border Patrol’s Tactical Unit (BORTAC). They were sent to the area with orders to protect federal property amid ongoing protests against police brutality. However, videos and witness accounts provided to OPB and several other news outlets show the officers detaining people who are not near any federal property and putting them in unmarked rental minivans.

Juan Chavez, director of the civil rights project at the Oregon Justice Resource Center, described the tactics to OPB as “stop and frisk meets Guantanamo Bay.”

The federal intervention was not requested by local government officials; in fact, Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler and other local government representatives have explicitly requested that federal officers vacate the city.

I'm referring to the specific video that was posted.........Look at the video again and read my comment.

Since when did you ever see an Antifa dude stand against a wall, peacefully waiting for camo clad dudes to come and arrest him and he never gave up a fight as they peacefully walked him away..........

You try and convince me that that video wasn't staged then explain to me why the camo dudes were wearing sunglasses at night rather than clear protective glasses...........

If you want to believe any video created by Antifa then that's up to you. Personally, I won't believe any of their published crap...........

Antifa are not the brave heroic figures you think they are. They have not exactly covered themselves with glory when confronted with deadly force from people who are prepared to use deadly force.
The trouble with Portland is, the far left mayor has effectively hobbled the police so the Antifa crazies have always known they'll get away with murder. Not so the federal forces. They will take these guys down if they have to. Trump is not kidding around.

I’m amazed you haven’t noticed the near 50 straight days of political violence in Portland. Federal cops operating near federal facilities like the federal court house in Portland is SOP. I saw it literally every day when I worked in downtown San Francisco.
