“I have seen up to 50% of people in a store not wearing masks. A week later, nearly everyone does.”

That’s disturbing. Mind control works well on ignorant people, of course.

“My counties rules allow one to remove a mask while eating or drinking except when “interfacing” with the staff.
- enter restaurant wearing mask.
- remove mask once seated.
- when the server arrives to get drink order you’re ‘interfacing’ so the mask goes back on. Server leaves so you can remove mask.
- server brings drinks, you’re interfacing so put the mask back on. Server leaves so you can remove mask.
- waiter arrives to take entree order, more interfacing, mask back on. waiter leaves so mask can come off.
wash, rinse, repeat.
A typical dinner would involve 10 masking/unmasking events. How stupid. Accomplishes nothing.”

But...but...”Avoid touching your face!”

True - but their "enforcement" is generally a verbal demand to leave - they cannot physically accost you and many that have employees defending themselves and others from violent folks often fire the employees.

The only viable action is to call the cops for everyone who tries to go cognito...(urban dictionary entry - opposite of incognito).

How many officers are cities willing to dedicate to going after "maskless marauders" and how much heat are they willing to take as they do this while allowing violent anarchists to go about their rampages unopposed?

look to lib mayors to go that route and look for lawsuits as 'detainees" suffer even minor injuries.

Yesterday the Burger King chick at the drive-thru window had hers way below her nose. I don’t blame her. It’s a hostile workplace environment to be forced to breathe in less oxygen than the Good Lord intended when he created us.

Perhaps it’s disturbing. However because people behave differently than you does not make them ignorant. That’s an unreasoned and ignorant claim.

You’re nobody special.

Wearing or not wearing a mask is a political statement, that is a fact. Crazy town? Nope sorry. Keep watching the news a first amendment is coming, bank on it. The governors have already proven it’s purely political by making exceptions for protestors.

At the end of the day, the fear of death is what makes these people wacko.

I’m not as conspiracy oriented. I believe our politicians are under extreme pressure to be seen doing something. Mask are an excellent way to demonstrate that they are doing something because they care.

FWIW, serving staff I’ve spoken with think these policies are absurd.

Just when I thought people were getting some common sense about how useless much of the mask wearing is, I am proben wrong.

No it isn’t. Or at least it shouldn’t be. Yes, definitely crazy town when you think a little bit of protecting others form your germs is a political statement and first amendment issue. In the end this is just being entitled whiners. Just like the people throwing hissy fits over McNuggets. It’s all a bunch of “but I don’t wanna”.

You do whatever you feel is best for you. I do what I feel is best for me. I will not be intimidated nor compelled to don a virtue signaling mask just to make someone else “feel” better.

“Rules” became non existent the minute the riots began buddy. Chew on that.

Wearing a mask is following the rules.

Rules made by who?
If Whitmar hands out a diktat saying everyone should walk backwards would you obey it?
What about if Whitmar handed out a “rule” saying all male first borns should be sacrificed?

Rule saying everyone is banned from getting married?
How about a rule banning the Republican Party and making Michigan a one party state?
How far are you prepared to go to be a mindless robot with no rights whatsoever?

“Being a special ed student doesn’t mean what you think.”

I know that. As an Advanced Placement Regents student in NYS when the schools were great, we helped the Special Ed kids. I get the difference.

Your refusal is your own virtue signalling. You’ve chosen a different set of virtues. I comply because it’s just not worth fighting about. Of all the hills to die on this is one of the stupidest.

Oh look strawmen. Come back when you’ve got actual logic.

Yes, definitely crazy town when you think a little bit of protecting others form your germs is a political statement and first amendment issue.

If your mask is so effective at protecting you from germs, why should you care if I have a mask on or not?
