A savage farm murder took place on the evening of 4 July 2020, at Ayoobs farm outside Weenen, in the KwaZulu Natal province of South Africa. The family was attacked after three masked attackers gained entry through a kitchen window of the farmhouse. The entire family, including a pregnant woman, her husband and two young children aged four and eight were assaulted.
The woman, Zakiyya Ahmedjan (26) and the children ran into the kitchen after hearing a commotion where the armed attackers were in a struggle with her husband. The attackers grabbed Zakiyya dragged her into the bathroom and slit her throat.
Her husband has been admitted to hospital in a serious condition. The children whilst extremely traumatized were not seriously injured.
The farming community of Weenen are shocked and in disbelief at the attack of a well known family in the area. and There is no other information available at this stage.Police are investigating. There have been no arrests.
This is the third farm murder in two days in South Africa.

I, uh... Don’t think they were white. If you look at the surname, they sound like Middle Eastern migrants. The site didn’t load pictures of them, so I’m assuming.

In the Western parts of SA a lot of Indians emigrated. So South Asian names are fairly common and as a result ME people felt comfortable moving into SA across the last few decades.

I was working with a fellow from South Africa a few years ago. He expressed an interest in bringing his family to the U.S. However he was fearful for their safety HERE because we all have guns. Go figure.
I am going to do some research because they only killed the pregnant wife. The wife is named Zakkiya, which is a very Arabic name.
I am wondering if this was an honor killing.
I know a number of South Africans, more realists than your friend. They don’t want to leave their homeland, but they understand that they are running out of options. They all have established a new home and are spending less time in South Africa each year.
