Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., on Thursday announced her intention to block Senate confirmations for 1,123 senior U.S. Armed Forces promotions until Defense Secretary Mark Esper confirms he will not block the "expected and deserved" promotion of Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman.
Vindman, an Iraq War veteran, served on the White House National Security Council and was thrust into the limelight last year when he testified about President Trump's July 2019 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that became the heart of a Democratic-led impeachment inquiry.
Vindman said he listened to the call and filed a whistleblower complaint over concerns that Trump allegedly tried to pressure Zelensky to investigate Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, who served on the board of one of Ukraine's largest natural gas companies.

When the Dems take over the Senate, they will do away with the so-called filibuster rule immediately. They wont say anything like,.... you stupid Republicans for keeping it. No they will go all serious and remind Republicans that its not in the Constitution. The 30 hours of debate on every Presidential nominee will be ended as well.
Yeah that will go down well with the 1,000+ you are frucking under for your agenda. Really this ditz was in the service? I’m at the point with these leftist I could careless that she lost two legs in the service. I won’t say what I really feel.
She just forfeited all her "but I got blowed up in the military!" cred.
Now, she's just a scumbag politician for dragging the pay and pensions of her [former] comrades-in-arms into the political arena.
Jam your "service" up your keester, you sack of garbage.
Yep - neither one - "Venkman" or Duckworthless...
He should have already been prosecuted for his crimes and at least tossed out for insubordination.
Wouldn’t it be tragic if Vindman’s personal laptop were to fall into the hands of prosecutors and...voila!...they find kiddie porn on it.
He violated the chain of command. That’s enough to ask him to retire, or be charged under the UCMJ. Articles 92, 134, and 90 come into effect. He’s lucky he wasn’t detained and court-martialed. Obviously some deals were made.

Thanks...hadn’t realized she was born in Bangkok.
Weren’t the Dems the ones that created the filibuster rule? If so, they never have a problem changing their own rules to suit their needs.
Vindman served as a platoon commander during the War Of The Jellydonuts, where during his combat service, he was awarded the gold star for excellent penmanship, the rainbow ribbon for being able to spell LGBTQ, and two Purple furbie dolls just because. At the time of his being awarded the gold star, Venkman was a platoon commander leading his box of raspberry jellydonuts in Operation Mocha Cappucino. Vindman led a counter-assault against the People's Barista Army of Starbucks, as his jellydonut platoon took on heavy munching while waiting for counter service and rocket propelled expressos. Throughout the battle, Venkman displayed "courage, dynamic leadership and unwavering devotion to duty in the face of grave personal danger to his waistline".
At the risk of repeating myself, I’m not trying to equate the two men but the uniform thing is silly.
You did good on the bios!!
How does a chick senator, whose party is in the minority, get the power to block anything?
Promote one day, demote to 2nd Lieutenant the next, assign to some place that has to be reached by helicopter.....
I can’t believe that fat load of sh*t duckworthLESS was a helicopter pilot.
I never knew the U.S. Army uses the Mi-26 since that’s the only helicopter in the world that can carry her fatness and still have about 4,000lbs of usable payload.
That’s Lieutenant Colonel “Oh Say Can You See” Vindman. There are rules
“He ought to be shot for wearing dress blues when class As are required.”
Those ARE the class A’s since 2010.
His “duty uniform” while working on the NSC is civilian attire (suit/tie), and he should have testified in his “duty uniform”, but chose (or was told by the Dems) to appear in his military uniform for better “optics”.
Either way, there were almost a dozen articles of the UCMJ he violated, and should have been charged with.
“Yes, and I am getting really tired of hearing about Captain Crunch.”
That’s Colonel Chow Hound* to you Mister!
/sarc
*Chow Hound is the name he “earned” in Ranger School after being caught stealing rations from other soldiers. And yes he’s proof that standards were lowered.
Good one!
