Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., on Thursday announced her intention to block Senate confirmations for 1,123 senior U.S. Armed Forces promotions until Defense Secretary Mark Esper confirms he will not block the "expected and deserved" promotion of Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman.
Vindman, an Iraq War veteran, served on the White House National Security Council and was thrust into the limelight last year when he testified about President Trump's July 2019 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that became the heart of a Democratic-led impeachment inquiry.
Vindman said he listened to the call and filed a whistleblower complaint over concerns that Trump allegedly tried to pressure Zelensky to investigate Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, who served on the board of one of Ukraine's largest natural gas companies.

Did she just “out” the whistleblower? THis article claims that Vindman filed a whistleblower complaint.
In fact, I think the article is just lying about that, Vindman wasn’t the person who filed the complaint.

And you are confused about how the promotions of Commissioned Officers of the Armed Forces are done. The Secretary of Defense must forward a promotion list to the Senate for approval. Senator Duckworth can sit on it until the cows come home and Halley's Comet returns.
My name was on a promotion list with a guy who was assigned to a Special Forces operation in El Salvador. Some Senator had his nose out of joint over that. We cooled our heals for months while this moron played his stunt.
Hell, promote him to three star and put him on point in an IED patrol in Afghanistan
