Roberts does the right thing. Sadly, the decision was 5-4-- that is, none of the "liberals" on the Court could agree with this. A good result. But if Trump doesn't win in November, it'll be short lived.

Nice that they allowed Roberts to vote with the conservatives on this one. I guess it’s not as important to them as abortion.

if Trump doesn't win in November, it'll be short lived. Once again, a lot hinges on November, thus the Leftist violence and anarchy.

    “Roberts does the right thing.”
Can’t be true - FReeper after FReeper has sworn that Roberts is a leftist sellout.

Who are “they” and what does “allow” mean?

Seriously, WTF is wrong with liberals? Their ideology directly stands in the way of children getting quality educations.
These vouchers provide a way out of failing ghetto schools for poor children, into high performance, safe schools run by religious organizations. But, they might hear of a higher power than government, so the liberals sentence them to a life without education.

Roberts does the right thing.Does he cast a die to decide. What does he do when snake eyes come up?

To: JOHN ADAMS
Roberts is going to give himself a severe case of whiplash with his seemingly hourly flip-flopping from Liberal to conservative and vice-versa.

I joined the dissent in Whole Womans Health (Note: This is the Texas abortion case which was identical to the Louisiana case and in which Roberts dissented from the majority and joined the conservatives) and con- tinue to believe that the case was wrongly decided. The question today (i.e. Louisiana case of June 29th) however is not whether Whole Womans Health was right or wrong, but whether to adhere to it in deciding the present case.

Sounds like a loyal (or captive) party member who is "allowed" to vote against the whip when his vote won't matter, but not when they need him.

In theory its a win but religious schools are for the most part (I speak from the Catholic angle) liberal greenhouses. Diocesan run schools are a great place to have your childrens faith systematically dismantled and the inclusive, politically-correct-nonsense indoctrination takes over. They pump out snowflakes at the same rate as government schools do.

No, a progressive activists that believes in “evolving law” rather than a textualist. Activist love “intent” and statutory personnel interpretation.

If this ruling means that my tax dollars will be going to Catholic schools, Im happy. Those schools provide a solid and moral education.
But if it also means that my tax dollars will be going to Islamic schools in the United States, then maybe Im not so happy.

When Catholics started to emigrate to the US in mass a lot of states passed what are called Blaine Amendments after James Blaine Congress member from Maine. With tax payer funded schools gaining momentum across the country, the sentiment was this money should not be used for Catholic schools.

Catholic schools at least maintain discipline in the classroom and teach that a person is responsible for his own behavior.
