Living right herein Sunnyside, 40 miles east of Yakima, white folks are the minority. The city is more than 70% Hispanic and a goodly portion of those are illegal. The only thing that seems to be shutdown in town are the schools and looks like everything else is business as usual. But that being said we are an agricultural area and that is an essential business and jobs.
The Hispanics like to congregate and don’t practice social distancing. Every store you go into is packed as they find it necessary to akawys take the whole family. I was so thankful when Costco went to 2/cart.
A lot of non-illegals rent out every space they can to the “migrants” and charge $500/rent for a single bed and some place do have 15-20 stacked in like cord wood.

I’m going out right now, in this very geographic area, and will not be wearing a mask (illegally lol). But my position is the same as it’s always been, that masks CAN decrease viral load, which is a good thing, but I’m gambling I don’t need that at this time. Neither does anyone near me, since asymptomatic transmission doesn’t exist (or hasn’t been proved to my satisfaction).
Masks are useless. Believe the lie if you want. It stops nothing.
It’s dehumanizing, unnecessary pure fear based & absolutely restricts my freedom. If you can’t recognize oppression by government fiat I feel sorry for you.

If masks work so well, why did we have to lockdown the entire nation to begin with? We could have just mandated masks and continued on. Businesses could have stayed open and people could have kept their jobs.
And if the masks work so well, why didn't we give them to all of the prisoners already locked up to keep from having to let them all out of jails and prisons?
If you wear a mask and it works so well, why do I need to wear one? You're protected already.
And don't give me this flattening the curve BS. We're way beyond flattening the curve into trying to find a "cure". There is no cure for this. It's a virus.
Then it went from social distancing to stay at home until we say you can come out.
From weeks to "we don't know how many months it will be".
From we're all in this together to "squeal on your neighbors and local businesses so we can throw them in the jails we just emptied".
But what fries me the most, that you conveniently left out of your "rationale", is if masks work, why did the same politicians and so-called health experts who demanded they we wear masks, allow hundreds of thousands of riff-raff out to riot, loot and burn the cities down without saying a thing?
The kid mayor of Minneapolis where this all started tried to say that and he was booed off of his stage. In Manhattan, the DA said he would not prosecute rioters for the "sake of justice" but would prosecute those protesting the wearing of masks and the restrictions on their constitutional freedoms.
And in Washington state, the subject of this thread, the unicorn and pixie dust mayor of Seattle just let these thugs have their way with downtown Seattle and the 3rd police precinct to form the nation of Chaz or Chop or whatever but said it was okay not to wear a mask if you were BLM.

Joe Biden just proclaimed that he would federalize the wearing of masks if elected. I'm sure with your sentiments and "logic" about wearing masks, you'll vote for him. After all, Biden has been in government for over 45 years and backs BLM, an avowed communist front group for George Soros and the democrat Marxists. He knows about controlling the behavior of populations with tyrannical dictates.
Folks wearing masks is fine, government mandating you to wear one is a very very bad thing.
Could you really care less? Why push the point then? There are 325-330 million people in this country. There are hundreds of thousands (maybe millions) with disabilities or underlying health problems who are still very active for whom wearing a mask will never be an option no matter what you post here about its benefits. Wearing a mask for these people not only would be detrimental to their health but downright dangerous. That's the problem with one size fits all government solutions.A governor compelling you to wear a mask should be arrested and jailed for medical malpractice. I think it wise one check with your doctor to make sure you don't have any heart, lung or immune suppression issues that could do you in wearing that mask. But I realize one is free to wear one without that medical advice.

They give the reason: "The chance of catching Covid-19 from a passing interaction in a public space is therefore minimal." It takes many minutes of interaction. Like the church choir (two hours) or the beauty parlor (30 minutes or more). There was no spread in the beauty parlor because most people were wearing masks. You can ignore that. Or you can give an explanation. Your choice.

No, I remain acceptiong of facts. You can rationaliize them away by claiming masks are completely useless (not true) and a power grab (hardly).
Because that's part of their anarchy-tyranny. As you also saw, many law abiding people were arrested for defending their propery, defending public property, trying to drive out of a dangerous situation etc. The elite would like to throw law abiding people in jail (e.g. a lawful gun owner like me) and let thugs roam free with their weapons including guns.
The desire for anarchy-tyranny (see decades of writing by Sam Francis) is very real. The effectiveness of wearing a mask is real as well. One has nothing to do with the other. If you think it does, then you are rationalizing.
I tend to agree. It should be encouraged by stores or other private entities. I just got back from the vet. There is 100% masking there. Vets study things like this.
Please post the statistics that prove that the majority of new cases of COVID are in those who do not wear masks and/or who do not socially distance in public?
Seeing that a large percentage of new infections are among the “woke” millennial population, who happen to be the most compliant virtue-signaling mask wearers, I’m guessing those statistics are nonexistent.
