500,000 people created accounts on the social media platform Parler after Twitter banned two conservative accounts Tuesday.
Parler’s user base increased by 50% this week, bringing the total number of users to over 1.5 million, Mediaite reported Thursday. (RELATED: Jennifer Lawrence Finally Joins Twitter For This One Reason)
The surge comes after Twitter permanently banned the account of Carpe Donktum, and locked the account of The National Pulse Editor-In-Chief Raheem Kassam. Both accounts, which were locked Tuesday, have over 200,000 followers.
Conservatives, who were already frustrated with Twitter for what they say is arbitrary and unfair banning of right-wing accounts, flocked to Parler after the two accounts were suspended. Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz both joined the platform.
I think Gab is supposed to be more of a Facebook alternative than Twitter.

They require a phone number so I backed away. I only wanted to read tweets from my pc or tablet. When they change that requirement perhaps I’ll try signing up again.

I joined Parler yesterday, and followed some of my Twitter favorites who moved. A favorite is Laurence Fox, a British actor who’s outspoken in his conservatism and who faced down his entire actors union, the BBC and the media. I don’t know whether he will ever get an acting role again!
Hopefully the Twitter won’t just buy out the new competition, as Facebook does.

I joined two days ago. I have a twitter account but haven’t used it in several years. I’ll give Parler a go and shut down the twitter account.
It’s true. I’m @MelindaPirkle on Parler and I’ve been following back people like crazy.
It’s been there for a long time but a lot don’t give up Twitter since the President isn’t on it yet. They are holding a place for him. Lots and lots of big name conservatives there though.
I see some vulgarity but not much. I skip over those or block the ones doing it. You either believe in free speech or you don’t. Even on Twitter some are allow to be vulgar and some are not. It depends on who you are over there. Free speech isn’t always pretty. You still have the option to block.
I'll give a very high probability that Twitter itself, along with the other social media sites, paid their own people and enlisted many others to create those accounts to take down a possible challenger.
Leftists are immoral and will lie, cheat, steal, and murder if necessary, to maintain their control.

Yes. I was banned from twitter for being anti communist and was banned from Gab for being anti Nazis.
I was wondering if Parler was Gab rebranded.
