500,000 people created accounts on the social media platform Parler after Twitter banned two conservative accounts Tuesday.
Parlers user base increased by 50% this week, bringing the total number of users to over 1.5 million, Mediaite reported Thursday. (RELATED: Jennifer Lawrence Finally Joins Twitter For This One Reason)
The surge comes after Twitter permanently banned the account of Carpe Donktum, and locked the account of The National Pulse Editor-In-Chief Raheem Kassam. Both accounts, which were locked Tuesday, have over 200,000 followers.
Conservatives, who were already frustrated with Twitter for what they say is arbitrary and unfair banning of right-wing accounts, flocked to Parler after the two accounts were suspended. Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz both joined the platform.
i am one of them.
I joined last week, I think. I quite like it so far. If Trump joined, he’d bring so many people with him.
“Twitter blocked my last post! Head to my account at Parler to see what it was and decide for yourself!”
That sort of thing.
I hope for Parler’s sake they can avoid some of the pitfalls that essentially ruined Gab’s attempts to be the free speech alternative to Twitter after it was taken over by neo-Nazi accounts (Real? Diruptors? Who knows.) who flooded the site with endless anti-semetic memes and postings making it unreadable.

I am going to join later, but that is the actual link, I believe.
26 Jun: Politico: Feds: Delay in Roger Stone sentence is following coronavirus-era policy
Stone cited the health risks he would face behind bars in his request to delay an upcoming prison sentence.
By JOSH GERSTEIN and KYLE CHENEY
The Justice Department won’t oppose a bid by Roger Stone, the longtime confidant of President Donald Trump, to delay an upcoming prison sentence until September, federal prosecutors said in a court filing Thursday night, citing department-wide policies implemented in response to the coronavirus pandemic...
Judge Amy Berman Jackson, though, made clear she isn’t accepting Stone’s contention at face value...

It’s a CF to get into and if they don’t fix it soon it will be gone.

Its a CF to get into and if they dont fix it soon it will be gone.

In that case, President Trump should hold up a bit until they fix the user experience and make absolutely sure it has the SCALABILITY that would be needed to handle TRUMPIAN TRANSACTION VOLUMES of users and transactions.
Good news!
“Its a CF to get into”
That’s done by design to keep the bots out.
It has already started. Several posters on there tonight with filthy language and one using the N word (reported).
The format is a bit clunky. I hope they can make a go of it, but it will be hard if the paid trolls get on there and just turn it into the FoxNews comments section with vulgarity.
It will never be highly effective since you have to be a member to read any of the posts. And the signup has privacy concerns. It has zero value to the general public.
BTTT!!
GREAT news! Thanks for posting.
I also find it strange that I have never seen so much as a screen shot from parler. I have no idea what it looks like. And I have not seen one post captured and quoted. Its like some kind of secret club.
“i am one of them.”
Me too.
Effective at what? I only signed up to Parler to keep following some people that Twitter banned. But I still go to Twitter. I check both feeds.
Parler will never overtake Twitter. It will just be a smaller community of conservative activists.
Every time I tried to sign up I get a message that they are sending an authentication code but which unfortunately never arrives...
How did Parler get so big so quickly? I think I only heard of it recently on Dan Bongino’s or Stefan Molyneux’s show. Before that I had signed up for Gab and never heard of Parler. Suddenly it seems they have a massive marketing campaign and have displaced Gab.
I pretty much avoid social media, so I don’t every post on my Twitter or Gab account, because I don’t like showing off and I don’t have an ego trip, but still, it is interesting to me why Gab didn’t get bigger over the last two years or so and Parler suddenly is at the top of the heap for alternatives to Twitter.
Dan Bongino also mentioned a few days ago that he bought into Parler and is an ownership partner in the company.
