The thunderous sound of fireworks their blasts sudden, deafening and often terrifyingly similar to gunfire have reverberated throughout the Bay Area in recent weeks.
Residents in the big cities and even in the quieter suburbs report the explosions started over Memorial Day weekend and have persisted through June, waking them in the night, interrupting their babies' naps and scaring their pets.
Fireworks packaging has been found around Lake Merritt in Oakland, and Nextdoor boards and Twitter are filling up with news of the booms and bangs in San Francisco.
"Im losing my mind," said SF resident J. Barry. "Were in South Bernal and its been super challenging for us. We rescued a dog at the start of quarantine, and shes obviously not responding well to all of this, nor are our 4- and 6-year-old children. The M80s or M1000s are nothing short of heart stopping. One went off last night at 2:30 a.m. and shook our house, windows, ceiling fans. Our family of four was all up for about two hours trying to calm down. So we are all a mess today."
In Hayes Valley, someone posted a sign to a post reading, "Whoever is setting firecrackers in the neighborhood at night, please stop. It's freaking out all our dogs and they're terrified of the loud noises."
One Twitter user in San Francisco reported the fireworks are sometimes so loud that car alarms go off and apartment windows rumble.
The pyrotechnic activity mostly occurs at night, sometimes into the early morning hours. A Twitter user commented that the Palo Alto fireworks usually run from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. nightly.

get some handheld ballostic shields for yourself as well. little extra protection
Bay area residents don’t have a mind as long as they reside there and repeatedly vote themselves this crap, on the streets and in the halls of government. My heart bleeds. You have reaped what you sowed, now live with it.
“Most notably, these arent cheap fireworks.”
When I was a kid, we could (legally) buy “Red Devil” brand fireworks. We set them off in the driveway.
Remember Piccolo Pete? Catherine wheels? The Glow Worm? Sparklers you could hold?
Wonder also if this is something coordinated. All over. Many cities.

NAH! Just a co-inky-dink.
Like the pallets of bricks that mysteriously showed up on street corners across the country on the first night of ‘peaceful demonstrations’..
Antifa/BLM anticipates that clogging police phone lines with fireworks complaints will make it harder for authorities to respond to priority situations.
Interesting post
I have been hearing fireworks the nighy or so, I live in a Pittsburgh PA suburb. Probably unrelated to the urban fireworks in various cities.
They’ve been going on every night here in Brooklyn. DeBlasio was very slow to do anything about it.
Pat, Id like to buy a vowel...

no the idea is threefold
1 to see what the response time is for the cops in their areas
2 to get people desensitized to the fireworks that sound like gunfire
3 to use the real fireworks as cover to go into the suburbs and shoot and kill white people
Is the state finally breaking off ?
no, if you are in a suburb, you are being targeted by this
My friend in Tacoma was complaining about this just a couple hours ago. It actually makes sense to me. Enough to wonder 'which side' would be doing it.
Leftists are complete losers and degenerate nitwits . If you vote DIM you apparently enjoy leftist Bizarro World .

Your wife is exactly right. Have a nice Fourth of July.
Ive heard some really massive ones here in Colorado a few times in the last 2 weeks.
Fireworks used as cover for gunfire as various persons settle disputes and even old scores.
Same here
The other mornning we had what sounded like 12 very loud
sounds, sounding like a high caliber weapon.
A neighbor was reported to have seen the fireworks.
It happened at 4:42 am.
About a week later I found out that just 5 five miles away
they had the same thing happen on the same morning at
4:30.
Over the last few weeks, we also had the sounds of large
no muffler motorcycles at all hours, every ten to
fifteen minutes, and loud cars at all hours too.
Seems like massive disruption to me.
Last night was the first night in a long while the
fireworks, motorcycles, and loud cars weren’t making
loud noices from 8:30 in the evening until after midnight.
I live in DC suburbs. Have a Ring doorbell, and its networked with people in a 5 mile radius. I havent heard any fireworks in my neighborhood, but people have been reporting about this every night.
