RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) A string of racist social media posts courtesy of two incoming freshmen was brought to the attention of school officials at N.C. State University. Those two students will not be allowed to attend the university in the fall.
Outrage on social media from university alumni and current students alike at the initial reluctance of the university to do anything about it helped bring the since-deleted social media posts to light.
Screenshots of the posts were leaked by many on social media which came on the heels of nationwide protests in the wake of George Floyds death.
We are appalled and disheartened that any member of the NC State community would choose to make such abhorrent statements. To say the words and actions in those posts stand in complete opposition to NC States values is an understatement, the university said in a statement.
In the coming academic year, the university says it will require every student, faculty and staff member to complete diversity and inclusion learning modules.
Other instances of hate speech and racist social media posts continue to be investigated by university officials.
The Wolfpack community deserves a campus environment where they feel safe, supported, respected and valued. The university vehemently condemns racism and all other forms of discrimination. We are dedicated to doing all we can to protect, promote and advance a culture of diversity, equity and inclusive excellence at NC State, the universitys statement read.
The university has not made it clear whether the students will be allowed to attend school after the fall semester.
My Alma Mater -spit-
I use a fake name and I never have co=workers on my media. Barely any family.
Being prejudiced shows the students are stupid. Period. Not college material. I can’t abide those superior types and their ignorant “jokes.”
US Constitution aside for a moment. What exactly did the students say that was considered racist. If they used a racial slur...or advocated violence against rioters? To what degree was their free speech considered unacceptable?
:: does this action represent a First Amendment violation? ::
It certainly does.
At this point, it is being done for the health and well being of the two incoming students as well as liability issues related to total destruction of NCSU property in the ensuing riot.
Oh, and when the two students get they azz beat, they will sue the Uni for not keeping them safe from marauding interlopers (fiduciary malfeasance).
Follow the endowment, or as it is known in the industry, the university’s pay-off slush fund.
Oh shut the he** up. This is all BS.
OTOH making disparaging comments about whites is perfectly acceptable.
Actually they should probably be thankful as our colleges have become hateful brainwashing institutions.

The internet is forever.

It’s their right to say it...offending someone does not take away that right.
these idiots should have known better and if you’re too stupid to check back your past videos, then you asked for it. MOST colleges now check your FB account for “hate speech”. It’s a given. ALL of my social media accounts are fake and never divulge my real face, address etc and WHEN they take it down, I create another another one, new ISP etc.
Note to the freshmen: Apprentice as plumbers. Learn the trade, start your own biz.
You’ll make more money than most of the PhDs I know.
Trade school.in 5 years making 60k plus and no student debt
Does anyone have a transcript of these “racist” remarks?
See post number 9 for the videos.

Get your Black Face costume on and apply to a Virginia state school.
If stupidity were a bar to entrance the universities would be nearly empty.
Speech is either free or it’s not.
So someone screenshot a ‘group’ chat? What did they do? ‘Hack’ the group? Troll the group?
This is all so crazy.
We all have freedom of speech. And that includes speech that might offend some people. I am offended by a lot of what the current movement says because it is factually incorrect. Yet, stating facts is now ‘hate’ speech.
I am so done, done, done.
Calling Obama a “socialist” was considered “racist.”
