The Warren Amendment didn't just call changing the names of military bases. It called for the destruction of Confederate monuments inside military graveyards including Arlington Cemetery.
During the voice vote, only Sens. Hawley and Cotton voiced opposition to the destruction of anything inside graveyards.
Other Republicans on the committee were completely silent.
Senate Republicans are now scrambling, believing Trump will veto the defense bill if it includes the Warren Amendment.
The amendment was passed with a voice vote, so there's no record on how any individual senator voted.
I was told, "this isn't the hill to die on"... I can't wait till they find that hill.
If you want to know what I said on the other end of the phone was, "grow some f****** balls and say no to these college campus white pussies and these wine moms. No one really gives a s***."
A couple of liberals seem to think destroying confederate monuments is extremely popular, it's not.
Morning Consult poll just last week found only 32% of Americans support taking down the monuments. It's probably even less in graveyards

The Union soldiers fought against slavery, I am glad slavery was abolished, and think it would have been better not to fight the Civil War. But unlike Elizabeth Warren, and apparently you, I don't want to destroy monuments and graves of those who believed in fighting for their states.
The Left is driven by hate—a compulsion driven hatred of reality. They are driven, both by hatred and a fanatic, humanist need to replace the works of the Creator, with a sick humanist contrivance.
Good one.
“Should we dig them up?”
The Soviets would dig up old enemies, then turn them over—facing down: the ultimate insult (to Soviets).
If their record keeping was poor, they could’ve undone a previous “turn”
Whoa. Anyone in Richmond understands the seriousness of this in that town.
I guarantee the voice vote was pre-arranged for the purpose of not getting pubbies on the record.
On display is the first purpose of every politician: reelection.
It’s why I won’t vote in the congressional portion of the November election
All history has to be eradicated if we are to be able to build Utopia.
“...Shoot who ever tries to tear down the statues...”
Yes, that is exactly what needs to happen. I have more respect heroes such as Stonewall Jackson and Pat Cleburne than anyone alive. We need to preserve their monuments. The Freepers who claim they were just Democrats do not get it. They died resisting DC’s overreach. Anyone who thinks those statues should go has a real Taliban mindset.
Im waiting to see how Gettysburg respond to this insanity.
If they fold I will be disgusted.
This will happen as no one is out there actively defending the statues.
I fear it’s coming to a boil, and they’re going to experience a purge unlike anything they’ve ever imagined in their worst dreams. They have no idea how many former military are getting together, making plans, sharing info, developing pre-planned responses.
I bet none of these people know that Jefferson Davis was the one and only President of the Confederate and he was a DEMOCRAT
How about the VA? Dont they oversee national cems?
But given theyre probably also full of enablers and liberals as feds, I wont be surprised.
Well, not a single political figure except Trump would object
so my guess is nothing.
I’ve been facing them and railing against them for over a decade now. Thanks.
You’re not alone.
I agree.
I wonder how McConnell and Ryan feel now, as the nation
they feared Trump would destroy, is destroyed by people they
empowered by criticizing him.
I don’t know but word has it that the HAs are heading to Seattle.
Party time.
We need to close Gettysburg....,.
.....
Leave Gettysburg sd alone.
