I've heard a bit about “SWATing” and the stuff that can result.Don't know if that's what has happened here.

Until body camera evidence emerges it’s safe to assume the cops are lying.

No knock warrants are a license to kill. Plainclothes no less. How is ANYBODY supposed to not assume that’s bad guys?

Can’t imagine it’s ever a good idea to bust someone’s door down with guns out. It’s not safe for the cops or the people inside.

I would assume this is an issue both liberals and conservatives could agree on ...which means it will go no where

The constitution call for an immediate end to no knock warrants.

Her poor family has to deal with that loss.
Not that it should matter, but every photo I see of her, she looks like someone who enjoyed life. That seems to make it a worse crime.

Behind a paywall. Dumb questions:

Did the police find the “evidence” they were looking for in the course of the raid?

Did the police at least break into the right house? (Half the time it seems the police broke into the wrong address.)

There may, perhaps, be cases where a no-knock warrant is appropriate. The actual number of such entries is far larger than the likely number of appropriate uses of that method.

Why is this case a federal issue?

Police said that although officers had a no-knock warrant, they still knocked several times and announced themselves.

Smells like BS ... why would they go to the trouble of getting a no-knock warrant, and then knock?

Conservatives should be leading the charge on this issue as no knock warrants are Unconstitutional and Government overreach! I am still innocent until proven guilty in America. I can tell you personally, if you start pushing in my door then there is lead coming down range!

Very few reasons to go all SWAT on a suspect(s) unless it is a true life or death situation.

Has there been an arrest in the murder of this woman?
Oh wait, I forgot that police can kill you and all the other police will protect them, until they can’t.
Thinking we may all need to reinforce our doors & windows from the real threat posed by ‘roided up heroes following orders’.

Police Killing of Breonna Taylor Fuels Calls to End No-Knock Warrants

A no knock warrant defies logic.   A warrant is a paper that provides authorization to search.   If the warrant is not shown to a citizen to give prior notice, it provides no purpose.

It's like police officers abducting a citizen instead of arresting him.   A police officer who breaks into a home without warning deserves to be shot dead.

Everything in a free society must be done above board and with full public scrutiny whatever the consequences.

While we are on the subject, any police sting operation should be declared Unconstitutional.   A store front that is opened as a pawn shop to accept stolen goods is actually creating criminals.

The excuse that they only identify those who are already criminals and allow them to incriminate themselves is fuzzy logic and therefore wrong.   If an uncle gives his nephew candy to pull his sister's pigtails, how different is that from a policeman telling an out-of-work someone to go steal something and we'll give money for it.

“...Police Killing of Breonna Taylor Fuels Calls to End No-Knock Warrants...”

What, and deprive swat teams the opportunity to kill people an/or dogs?
