Growing outcry over the police killing of Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old black emergency-room technician, in her Louisville, Ky., home is stoking calls to end the use of no-knock warrants like the one officers secured to raid her apartment.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation said on Thursday it was opening an investigation into Ms. Taylors death. The same day the Louisville police chief, Steve Conrad, said he would retire. Earlier this month Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear urged state and federal investigators to review the Louisville Metro Police Departments internal investigation of the shooting.
U.S. Sen. Rand Paul and U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie, both Kentucky Republicans, are calling for the elimination of no-knock warrants, which allow police to storm a residence without first announcing their presence.
The warrants have generated controversy in the U.S. for years, and some police departments have discontinued or restricted their use after raids went awry.
Together with the February killing of Ahmaud Arbery, a 25-year-old black man shot and killed in southeastern Georgia, the case has focused attention on issues of race and law enforcement.
Ms. Taylor was asleep in bed with her boyfriend, 27-year-old Kenneth Walker, when three plainclothes police officers broke through her apartments front door early in the morning on March 13, according to a wrongful-death lawsuit filed by her family against the officers. Investigators said an alleged drug dealer they were pursuing had received packages at Ms. Taylors home, according to a search warrant affidavit.
Attorneys for Ms. Taylors family said police burst in without warning, leading the couple to believe they were intruders. Police said that although officers had a no-knock warrant, they still knocked several times and announced themselves.

... but they get to break out all their paramilitary toys! What good are they if they dont get to play with them? /s
Police officer left out key facts in obtaining indictment of Breonna Taylor's boyfriend

Yep. Benjamin Crump is a much more reliable source.
I personally think that Judges and Cops should be Swatted Regularly, maybe then they will understand a little better.
>>Why is this case a federal issue?<<
Probably a 4th A issue.
Has there been an arrest in the murder of this woman?
Oh wait, I forgot that police can kill you and all the other police will protect them, until they can’t.
Thinking we may all need to reinforce our doors & windows from the real threat posed by ‘roided up heroes following orders’.
Smells like BS ... why would they go to the trouble of getting a no-knock warrant, and then knock?
Yep. Benjamin Crump is a much more reliable source.
He has nothing to do with the case at hand.

He is the only one of the family attorneys they are quoting, why wouldnt he have something to do with this?

The only "source" required for my observation is two brain cells to rub together.
And many on FR cheered their death as druggies. They held onto it for over a year. It was obvious from the start the cops were corrupt and screwed up. But the JBT cheerleaders still licked the boots to a high gloss shine. They know who they are. These type of raids should be very very rare.
Two brain cells and one side of a story. Must suck to be so easily manipulated.
Did they ever cheer their deaths. To them, nothing beats the taste of lack boot leather. They wear their tongues down to a nub licking, licking, licking.
Did the police at least break into the right house? (Half the time it seems the police broke into the wrong address.)
—
Reminds me a few years back the Boston PD did a no-knock raid on a drug dealer. Only, they busted down the door of the wrong house and broke into the house of an elderly minister, which traumatized him to where he had a heart attack and died. F’n disaster.
A no knock warrant defies logic. A warrant is a paper that provides authorization to search. If the warrant is not shown to a citizen to give prior notice, it provides no purpose.
It's like police officers abducting a citizen instead of arresting him. A police officer who breaks into a home without warning deserves to be shot dead.
Everything in a free society must be done above board and with full public scrutiny whatever the consequences.
While we are on the subject, any police sting operation should be declared Unconstitutional. A store front that is opened as a pawn shop to accept stolen goods is actually creating criminals.
The excuse that they only identify those who are already criminals and allow them to incriminate themselves is fuzzy logic and therefore wrong. If an uncle gives his nephew candy to pull his sister's pigtails, how different is that from a policeman telling an out-of-work someone to go steal something and we'll give money for it.

What, and deprive swat teams the opportunity to kill people an/or dogs?
If so then every police killing is as well.
And they absolutely HAVE to do this in the dead of night - to protect THEMSELVES? It’s rotten to the core. Make them do this in the daylight!! Make it illegal for any raid at any home for any person for any reason. Vermin don’t like daylight. We know why they do it as they did to Roger Stone - Paul Manafort and how many others. Who do the authorities think they’re fooling? Purely political and they never have to pay a price, do they?
“”if you start pushing in my door then there is lead coming down range!””
As it should in any patriot’s home. As someone else said in an email to me recently, a lot of gun safes are being unlocked and kept unlocked. Oh - wait until the blue state governors get wind of that! A new cause for them. They’ll have to go back to the drawing board and make NEW promises for reelection.
