WASHINGTON - Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, is warning Congress that if the country reopens too soon during the coronavirus pandemic, it will result in “needless suffering and death.”
Fauci is among the health experts testifying to a Senate panel. His testimony comes as President Donald Trump is praising states that are reopening after the prolonged lock-down aimed at controlling the virus’ spread.
Fauci, in a statement to The New York Times, warned that officials should adhere to federal guidelines for a phased reopening, including a “downward trajectory” of positive tests or documented cases of coronavirus over two weeks, robust contact tracing and “sentinel surveillance” testing of asymptomatic people in vulnerable populations, such as nursing homes.
“If we skip over the checkpoints in the guidelines...then we risk the danger of multiple outbreaks throughout the country,” Fauci wrote. “This will not only result in needless suffering and death, but would actually set us back on our quest to return to normal.”
The health committee hearing offers a very different setting from the White House coronavirus task force briefings the administration witnesses have all participated in. Senators on the panel are knowledgeable and some have working relationships that go back years with the agencies that the panelists are representing. Most significantly, President Donald Trump will not be controlling the agenda.

It was reported here that a company in San Diego developed a vaccine within 3 days of receiving the covid genome. Apparently, vaccine science is not rocket science.

People value their Liberty and Freedom and will accept death and sickness to preserve those if they have to.
Someone should tattoo Patrick Henry’s admonition right onto Dr. Anthony Fauci’s forehead:
” GIVE ME LIBERTY, OR GIVE ME DEATH!”

the propaganda is rampant today on Fox news and I just had to turn it off. They played the Chuck Schumer clip telling Fauci to let it rip three times in a 10 minute time span. They obviously have an agenda.

Just humbly pointing out the following:
- We have NEVER developed a successful vaccine for ANY coronavirus.
- Our flu vaccines are sometimes only 30-40% effective.
- Dr. Fauci has been a three-decade one man EPIC FAIL in the search for an HIV vaccine.
I’m not going to sit here and tell you that with a Manhattan Project like effort it could not be done. But the odds are really long.
That is an incredible list of incompetence! And just how many Senators will even bother to question Dr. Farce on all of his inconsistent statements today?
My guess is zero. It really frosts me that this tyrant is being given a forum to forward the Dems goal of destroying our economy
