Suicide by cop. Terrible, I feel for the cop and his family. Too bad the dead dude didn’t get mental health help.

I disagree because technically, if he had shot when the guy wasn't a clear threat, all hell would have broken loose. (And who knows, still may)
Once the guy was charging him, then he could rightfully claim self-defense.
Body cam makes it clear that this was no hands up shooting in the back scenario.
For the life of me, I'll never figure what's going through the mind of someone who rushes someone else who's holding a gun on them. Looks like suicide by cop at that point.
Many, many people saying he should have been tased instead. But that doesn’t always work, especially on chunky dudes like this, or if the electrode fail to penetrate baggy clothes (like his perhaps). And if the taser fails, you are faced with a guy coming towards you thrusting a knife towards your chest, while you attempt to switch weapons to stop him. Not a desired scenario. And this guy remained outside the taser’s range until he made his fatal move.
I was just going to ask, when do the riots start? Maybe not this time, unless they try to say the cop was racist for coming up on the guy, in the first place. They will try something.
Other thing is that there is a certain proportion of the population that a Taser does *nothing* to. There’s video of people getting hit cleanly, the Taser discharging... and nothing happens, the target pulls the shock module out and continues on.

Tasing really is only viable in this kind of situation if there’s at least two officers - one with the Taser and one with a pistol in case the Taser doesn’t work.

A few days after the Freddie Gray riots in Baltimore, a similar event happened in Baltimore County. White cop, unarmed black youth.
Fortunately a security camera picked it up. Cop drew down on the kid and told him to get on the ground. Kid refuses. Starts walking toward cop with his right hand behind his back.
Cop is backing up and yelling to raise his hands.
Stupid kid quickly pulls his hand forward imitating having a gun. Kid ends up dead.
Police released the video immediately and quelled any potential rioting. There was no chance it wasn’t a legitimate shooting.
The cop fires five shots. Only the final shot to the heart brings the madman down.
Even the Entitlement Community knows a loser when they see one. Minimal protests of `racism’ expected.

They are the enemy and will lie about and obfuscate every single minute action of the officer.
They will manufacture scenarios that will be picked up by the likes of CNN and MSNBC and presented as alternative truth to the gullible...nay, stupid liberal morons that are shocked out of their socks by this callous display of casual murder of a law-abiding poor black man by a white supremacist cop.
