The coronavirus media fraud/hype is an accelerated version of the global warming media fraud/hype.
I wondered about that too, crazy. Here most people walk around with no mask but then put one on (which is requested by signage) when entering a building. Some ignore that completely also. I’ve not seen anyone challenge them.
The two are already being tied together by liberals.
When you are outside, you want all the skin exposed to the sun to make Vitamin D. The mask doesn’t cover up much of your body, but why deny the sun falling on your face? Besides, the sun on the face feels so good! And breathing that stuffy, recycled air in the mask? Yuck!
The people in cars with masks just crack me up.
The one-person-per-golfcart rule is another stupid one. My son the other day asked “what if you are playing with your spouse? You have to get two carts even though you are next to him/her a lot of the day?” Great question.
There is enough idiocy going around to last several lifetimes.

Two reasons.
A large (majority?) group of Freepers, aka Chicken Freepers, most of which draw a check from the government, decided to sacrifice their liberty and also lockdown their fellow Freepers in order to protect themselves. They went for the Prog/Dem/Lib/Enviro agenda after becoming frightened.
Sure the liberal tyrants did most of draconian acts but it was so called conservatives who did the enabling.

I've noticed that too. Hiking trail in the woods, and folks moving like 10 feet off the trail when we pass. Amazing how worked up folks can get when their only info is hysterical fake news.
The reasons for this level of response to this pandemic are:
1) Covid-19 has a death rate of 7%.
2) It is as contagious as the common cold.
3) It is transmissible before symptoms appear.
Each one of these factors make it an extremely deadly virus, one which needs to be stamped out.
We have, in fact responded to past pandemics in much the same manner. Unfortunately, no one alive has lived through one of those deadly pandemics, so we do not have that memory.
The point of the mask to protect other people from you, not the other way round.
Makes perfect sense to me, I fail to understand the resistance that people put up.
Now, there is some small, residual benefit to the wearer, but that’s not the point.
A sneeze can expel droplets up to 7 meters away from the person sneezing in still air. That’s almost 23 feet. A cough doesn’t go as far, but it’s well over the 6 foot figure that gets bandied about.
Because Trump is President.
Sadly we have some chumps who post on these threads who bought it hook, line and sinker!
I don’t want to contradict you without evidence, but I’m not aware of any attempt to quarantine HEALTHY people, rather than the sick and those who may have been in contact with them.
I am open to being wrong on this, but this is the first time I’ve seen anyone assert that this particular strategem has been attempted in the past.
I certainly agree that this is not the flu, and attempts to downplay or minimize its seriousness at this juncture are simply foolish. That said, it’s out in the world now, it’s not going to be “stamped out” unless or until there’s a vaccine, which is months away.
The “lockdown” was sold as a desperate mechanism to “flatten the cure”, ie, avoid a collapse of the hospital and healthcare system as we saw on our television screens in Italy. None of the architects of this response have claimed, to my knowledge, that they would be able to “stamp out “ the virus.
Any pointer to contradictory information is, as always, most appreciated.
Well, with all due respect, I very much doubt that the Fearpers or “chicken freepers” as you call them were in any position to impose their preferences on anyone, let alone the Flubros.

The death rate is nowhere near 7%!
Number one, a lot of people are being shown to have this antibody. The people who have the antibody must be added to the total number of cases, and this in turn lowers the death rate percentage!
Number two, large numbers of people were recorded as dying from COVID-19 who did NOT! Others did not die of COVID outright, but had other serious illnesses!
I’m sure you also believed Fauci and Birx when they assured us we were going to lose 2.2 million Americans to this bug...right?
This bug was a scam! Go push your trash science and statistics somewhere else!
“Impose”? In what way? Ok so they are not the gov. But they are highly influential. Using your influence and public forums such as this one to not just disagree, as Freeprs have done with every other Bog Scare, but to become an advocate even cheerleader is unconscious-able and unforgivable.
Well, that seems a little overwrought, but fine.
I’ve been a bit suspicious that the long history of “deep cover” trolls are trying to use this to “Moby” the site, but that’s probably just me being paranoid.
