The $2000 per month for every American, would eliminate the 5-7% quarters GDP growth after shutdown, and turn them into 1% quarters, just like Obama’s inserting Obamacare right after the 2007 market collapse. That was why growth then was so anemic. Obamacare was essentially a huge tax increase.

Let’s see.... $4k/months for married couple plus $2k per kid.... for me that’s $6k/month for me.... I’m quitting work and vacationing in the islands.... hope this is direct deposit so I don’t have to do anything....
Two 20 somethings renting a 2/2 in a shady part of town could survive on that, no problem. I did it when I was in my 20s, but I earned that $24K with hard work.

Sorry if you are one of those people who won’t get the benefit, because you live in a high cost of living area, or actually invested in your career. Sorry if you are one of the people we’re going to have to tax the crap out of to find the money for this and other programs for benefits you’ll never see. Oh, and sorry if you had saved money in 401(k)s and IRA’s so you could retire, we’re going to have to tax them to find the funds for UBI, as well as to bail out all of the local government pension programs. So sorry.
This really has become a battle against those who are willing to tax a subset of the population so they can buy votes to get themselves into office. Who cares if they pit 48% of the people against the other 52%. Actually, I do.
Why work?
Hol up. If you’re married with three kids you get ten grand a month until the pandemic is over and then for another three months afterwards? Who in their right mind would keep working if they got offered that deal?
I would quit my job and spend the next month roaming the countryside stocking up on ammo, food and gasoline ...because month two, well, that’s when we’d start needing as much as we could find.

Keeping people separated as much as possible through mandated isolation/house arrest, anti-social mask-wearing, anti-social distancing and by suspending the U.S. Constitution and outlawing protests and church services, coupled with incessant updates to the Chinese virus deathcount by the Democrat/Left MSM to keep the level of fear at a fever pitch, comprise the formula for keeping the lockdown of America in place ... and it takes money to keep people complacent in their isolated safe spaces until the destruction of our American Republic can be completed.

Well, it actually seems pretty fair to me. But only, and I mean only, should this last until the virus is stamped out. I mean it will never be Stamped Out fully. But once things reopen, especially the border, I can’t wait till the border re-opens, because then my sister and I will be going to Florida. I can’t wait! Even if it’s the height of the summer when you can’t walk 10 yards or so to the beach without dripping and becoming drenched in sweat!
