Reported three days ago but this story reflects the continuation of the push for a universal basic income. Never let a crisis go to waste and after all requiring people to work for a living is racist.

They want to completely destroy the American way of life and economy. $2000 a month means most people won’t bother going back to work.

Seems to me that $5,000 a month would be better. Or 10. Or even more. What could possibly go wrong?

No telling how they’d define how the impact of the virus has subsided.

For 24K....hard to run a household on that.
But you're right...a lot of folks working minimum wage jobs would make more under this plan than actually working.

How about a novel concept? Let people go back to work and earn their keep?

Ok my friends. Answer this. Give everyone $2k/mo and NOTHING else. No welfare/SSI/food stamps. Do the math. Would we come out ahead?

Typical mentally-deficient leftists unable to think beyond taking other-peoples’-money (that of your kids and grand kids) to advance their loony leftist ideas. I have known earthworms that are apparently more able to think and reason than these frauds. Pox on these malignancies.

You really think they would stop at $24,000 a year? Ever seen a government program that was cut?

Trojan Horse for monthly basic income. Candidates will promise higher and higher income. It will never stop.
To: buckalfa
The one-time $1,200 check that many Americans recently received is not nearly enough to pay the rent, put food on the table and make ends meet. During this unprecedented crisis, Congress has a responsibility to make sure that every working-class household in America receives a $2,000 emergency payment a month for each family member, Sen. Sanders said. And just whose fault is that?
Democrats are the tax and spend party and the states with the most restrictive lock downs for the virus are all dem controlled.
Nice. Create the crisis and then come along and offer the solution as if you are a bunch of heroes.

Yep. The blue states are in big financial trouble. This is a way to fill their coffers by getting federal money to illegals and to those who rather just sit on their porch than work.
