Bing Liu "was on the verge of making very significant findings" in a SARS-CoV-2 research project at the University of Pittsburgh, his department said.

WTAE Updated: 6:25 PM EDT May 4, 2020 ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man who police said was found shot dead at his Ross Township home was a research assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was working on a coronavirus research project.

Police said they believe that Bing Liu, 37, was shot inside his Elm Court townhome by a man who then went outside to his car and shot himself. Liu's death is believed to be a homicide, police said.

Advertisement The second man was found dead inside the vehicle on Charlemagne Circle, police said. He has not yet been identified.

Liu was a researcher with the department of computational and systems biology in the Pitt School of Medicine, the department said Monday.

"Bing was on the verge of making very significant findings toward understanding the cellular mechanisms that underlie SARS-CoV-2 infection and the cellular basis of the following complications," the department said in a written statement. "We will make an effort to complete what he started in an effort to pay homage to his scientific excellence."

Liu was described as an outstanding researcher and mentor, with expertise in computational modeling and analysis of biological systems dynamics.

"His loss will be felt throughout the entire scientific community," the university said.

Police said Liu and the man who shot him knew each other. Authorities have not discussed a possible motive for the shooting, which remained under investigation Monday.

I didn’t gather it as the most likely explanation

Pennsylvania authorities will no doubt, rule this a corona related death for statistical purposes.

...a man who then went outside to his car and shot himself.
Snip...The second man was found dead inside the vehicle on Charlemagne Circle, police said. He has not yet been identified.

Sounds like he's been identified if it was determined that he went to "his" car. Police can
identify a car owner through a license plate search on the computers in every police car.

A more accurate statement is, IMO, "his identity hasn't been released to the public."

Were there any dead Asian Murder Hornets or tiny origami animals (old reference) found at the scene?

If the killer had been acting on orders from China, he could have just gone to New York City and Bill de Blasio would have released him without bail.

No biggy...

Probably just drowned after knocking himself out with a canoe paddle, shot himself in the head two or three times, then crashed his plane, and got hit by a train, before jumping 20 floors from his apartment building.

Suicide by natural causes for sure!

Nothing to see here folks... Just move along... /s

“His loss will be felt throughout the entire scientific community,” the university said.

Dream on. There are million in the scientific community who have no need for Bing and his computational modeling, since no university lacks computational modeling.

The article is fuzzy, probably on purpose, to hide the true motive of the murder and suicide. Guess? Either gambling debts or third world grudges.

In reality, I am down with the possibility certain Fauchi/Gates/WHO/CDC/Clinton Foundation/Soros/China/Iran/etc... just might not have wanted certain things being public, and/or didn’t exactly want competition, or the DERP did not want the crisis to end quite yet.

Worst place in the world to be, is between the highly criminal global socialist cabal (with many hit teams) and their master/slave money and power plans.

#14. Re Pierre Curie being run over by a streetcar. That’s what we call “StreetKarma”.

If this was Madame Curie’s husband (sounds like it), he was a very strong pro-Soviet communist asset in France, as was his wife. Little known fact but worthy of a spy book.

Dishonest and misleading story makes it sound as if he were the ONE man on the verge of curing the virus and that this was a conspiracy theory hit.

Truth of the matter is that there are thousands of researchers at Pitt working on stuff like this.

I loathe our local media.
