Japan urges citizens to isolate as reports warn of 400,000 deaths

Reports in Japanese media citing an undisclosed health ministry projection said fatalities could reach the 400,000-mark without mitigation measures. It also estimated that as many as 850,000 people could need ventilators.

Seems to be turning out to be a blood disease, not a respiratory one
Need to re oxygenate the blood
Ventilators are damaging lungs acting futilely to do so

Japan is ten times more densely populated than is the US.The Tokyo subway system make the NYC system look like something in a small Wyoming town by comparison.It's easy to see why Japan would be concerned about this,

No, but as their best customer and closest ally, they watch what we do very closely. My daughter lives in Tokyo, not far from what is their equivalent of Times Square.
Everybody (including her) who can work from home is working from home now. Commuter trains are running at about 40% capacity for everyone else.
Japan has very strict laws and restrictions on what the government is allowed to do as a result of their not so happy experience with fascism during World War II. They cannot require people to stay home or businesses not to operate. They can only plead.
