I can see....”Why move them” if we don’t have to....which means they have the capacity at the present. And that ship is specialized for trauma patients. You don’t want to waste the facility but you also don’t want to fill it with people who might go home in two days.

I’m very confused because ‘citizen journalists ‘ are submitting videos on YT of hospitals that are empty. Including NYC. Some have gone back where the media has shown long lines for testing and no one is there, except a person at a table. No line. Don’t know what to make of this.

Instead of being thankful we find a reason to be angry?
Actually, I read that the process to get patients moved to the hospitals is slow, because the purpose of the ships is not for virus patients but for other people who need hospital care. This, theoretically, would enable them to provide more beds in the city hospitals for virus patients.
However, the patients have to be screened - and they also have to test negative for COVID. So it’s slow.
There is also, of course, the nagging question of whether this was really necessary, since there are other hospitals in New York State that have an abundance of available beds and no massive virus outbreaks to fill them.
The ships aren’t treating Corona patients. They are there to handle the overflow on every day stuff as ships are really hard to disinfect. We have seen this with the crusie lines.
Laura Ingraham had two doctors on last night. One of them stated that the ship is not yet used because the hospitals in New York have not reached capacity. Ship not needed, yet.
I'm starting to wonder what percentage of folks in intensive care were there because of "issues" with elective procedures. We hear now and then that one of the biggest causes of death is medical mistakes.
