But after three days in the harbor only three patients have been transferred to the hospital ship.

The ship has 1,000 beds.

Another Navy hospital ship, the U.S. Naval Ship Mercy, docked in Los Angeles, has had a total of 15 patients, officials said

You can thank the CDC officials and doctors for pushing fake models on the American public and Trump administration!

The CDC used the IMHE model to base their numbers on. The model was way off in its predictions.

Advertisement - story continues below The IMHE study predicted over 121,000 Americans would be hospitalized by Wednesday over the Coronavirus. The actual number was 31,142.

In New York, the IMHE model predicted that as of yesterday, 50,962 people would have been hospitalized due to the Coronavirus. The actual number was 18,368.

some people have to turn on a light to find their way to the master bath in their own house. Andrew cumou and Bill De Biasio come to mind.

The hospitals in my area are being hit hard financially because they have NO patients, and all elective surgery and minor healthcare has been eliminated.

The ships are not being used for over flow. They are only for Non Covid patients. Hospitals are for Covid. That way they can keep them separated.

The same thing happened in Puerto Rico after Hurricane María. After much carping by the Democrats, they sent the Comfort to the island. The boat actually sailed from port to port around the island looking for patients. Having found no takers, it sat in San Juan harbor for a week or two, seeing very few patients, mostly small cuts, hung nails, and one woman in labor. It left without any fanfare after everyone realized how ludicrous that was.

I agree...that’s exactly why he uses it. He’s in the know...starting to remind me of Obama.....who knew everything about nothing. Bunch of political phonies.

If NYC hospitals are overwhelmed, why is this ship sitting idle?

If someone is purposely not routing patients to the ship, they should have their sorry rear ends thrown in jail.

This news along with 3M selling masks overseas instead of providing for US needs is really irritating this morning.

The rules to get on the ships are too stringent so people are being turned away. They are fixing it.

From years back there have been stories of hospitals closing temporarily for some reason and the death rate in the community goes down.

I like doctors well enough, but sometimes I think modern medicine is killing us.

The surge hasn’t happened.

Many folks on FR expect instant results. I bet they aren’t farmers.

Cuomo wants the ship to handle his Covid patients, BIG mistake. Keep them in the Javits center.

Due to how long it takes to get a result for the Commievirus, it does not surprise me that there is a lag in the number of patients taken aboard by USNSs Comfort and Mercy.

It is possible that we may see an increase in patient load in the next day or so. Just a WAG on my part though. So don't call your bookie on that just yet.

The states want to shunt coronavirus patients off to the military and resume normal operations. Problem is - if the military docs are sick from being infected by coronavirus patients, and war breaks out, are civilian doctors from the states gonna head off to war zones to treat wounded soldiers? I expect not. The plan was always for non-coronavirus ER patients currently shut out from state hospitals due to concerns about coronavirus infection to be moved to the ships. These civilian hospital directors are trying to change the rules of engagement and whining when the military balks.

This crisis has made me start to think that a lot of very incompetent and insignificant people unexpectedly got their 15 minutes of fame and instead of proving otherwise, showed us just WHY they’re ‘incompetent and insignificant’.

Political appointees, socially or academically connected clowns and others who slid by or leap-frogged all the benchmarks WE meet daily in OUR jobs... so when the world finally ‘meets’ them, they’re shown up for the misplaced, overrated, overpaid jerks that they surely are.

I listen to them and watch them... and it’s obvious that not one of them could hold a position in the real world without their ‘special’ connections.
