April 2Cheerful Givers
God loves a cheerful giver.
2 Corinthians 9:7Years ago, my wife received a small rebate from something shed purchased. It wasnt something shed expected, it just showed up in the mail. About the same time, a good friend shared with her the immense needs of women in another country, entrepreneurial-minded women trying to better themselves by way of education and business. As is often the case, however, their first barrier was financial.
My wife took that rebate and made a micro-loan to a ministry devoted to helping these women. When the loan was repaid, she simply loaned again, and again, and so far has made twenty-seven such investments. My wife enjoys many things, but theres rarely a smile as big on her face as when she receives an update on the flourishing taking place in the lives of women shes never met.
We often hear emphasis on the last word in this phraseGod loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7)and rightly so. But our giving has a specific quality about itit shouldnt be done reluctantly or under compulsion, and were called not to sow sparingly (vv. 67). In a word, our giving is to be cheerful. And while each of us will give a little differently, our faces are places for telling evidence of our cheer.
By: John Blase
Reflect & Pray
When did you last cheerfully give? Why do you believe God loves a cheerful giver?
Generous Father God, thank You for the joy that comes in giving from a cheer-filled heart. And thank You for the ways in which You provide abundantly for our needs.

60 degrees today and snow tomorrow. I am well and healthy so I decided to quarantine the whole world and keep them out of my space.

We’re doing o-k on supplies (except TP is still hard to find anywhere).
Still working so not much upheaval in that regard. (It’s kind of selfish to admit, but I like the light traffic in my daily commute.)
I do miss being on the road. Been in the office for the last three weeks.

My goodness, mountainlion...you’ve done a fine job of keeping folks out of your space. Hope snow is kept to a minimum.
We were supposed to have snow, and it’s cold enough, but the sun is just starting to come out. I need to go chop some sun weakened ice. I’m slowly trying to make a clear path to my mail box. I’ve made it to the end of the driveway, but they is a lot of ice in the gutter.

Good evening, radu...any break from the rain?
We are supposed to get snow by Thursday evening. Not worried about the streets, tho. I can just enjoy looking at it. It can’t stick around for long...too warm.
