FDA SAYS HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE AND CHLOROQUINE CAN BE USED TO TREAT CORONAVIRUS

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the use of two anti-malaria drugs to treat patients infected by the new coronavirus.

On Sunday, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) said in a statement that chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine could be prescribed to teens and adults with COVID-19 "as appropriate, when a clinical trial is not available or feasible," after the FDA issued an Emergency Use Authorization. (EUA) That marked the first EUA for a drug related to COVID-19 in the U.S., according to the statement.

Currently, there are no specific drugs for COVID-19 which, as shown in the Statista graph below (accurate as of March 26), has sickened over half a million people. According to Johns Hopkins University, over 720,000 cases have been confirmed, more than 34,000 people have died, and over 152,000 have recovered since the pandemic started in China late last year.

Then if you get the coronavirus are you going to tell them not to give you HCQ and azithromycin and zinc because the effectiveness hasn’t been established?

I thought not.

The point is they didnt even try for test runs. How many people died while they stuffed their thumbs up their asses, and then glory of glorys they apparently got their ‘alpha and beta’ tests back and in record time....after the internet was showing it worked and approved of its use! What value does a bueracracy have when they dont even allow for people being killed in 5 days after contracting the disease, not to try this on them to attempt a love saving measure? France is farther ahead of the curve than the FDA.

They aren’t hoarding. They are prescribing it to their families. They aren’t stupid. They’re protecting their families.

I get that.

So much so that Gilead withdrew their application for super expedited approval, donated the medication to the US Department of Defense for FREE, and have said they’d be happy for people to complete formal testing but will make the remdesivir available to otherwise terminal patients under compassionate “Right To Try” grounds for free as well?

Yeah, don’t think that’s what’s happening there, dude. Remdesivir is not approved anywhere, for anything, other than as an investigational drug. It sort of failed at its initial purpose, being an anti-ebola drug. (The competition was significantly more effective.)

SeekAndFind asked me my thoughts on Raoult’s paper so I gave them to him early this morning. It is long but I am certain if you read that you may get some insight. Just a suggestion.

"because they had to have a big supply to do any of that, and the very limited normal pipeline supply for lupus and RA had been sucked dry, so none of that could be done until the big donations in the works by the manufacturers finally came through in the last couple of days "

Not true. The military has/had stockpiles, as they must be prepared to send troops into malarial areas on short notice. One of the emergency powers that Trump activated was the use of such military medical stockpiles for civilian use. I'm sure that in addition to ventilators, masks, and gloves that drugs are also in the mix.

Medical tests have to be sensitive or specific. Can’t be both. It’s like fast or cheap.

Re: post #31 I wrote HCL when I meant HCQ. Sorry.

HCL would certainly fix the problem you have with the virus.

Ever have one of those lights in your back yard that goes off every time there is motion and sounds an alarm? If it’s so sensitive it goes off every time a bunny or bird passes through you are going to eventually just turn it off. You have to turn down the sensitivity in order to be more specific (burglar). CDC was in burglar mode. They got caught on their back foot in December and had to spin up all new tests that were more sensitive, hence the high rate of False Negatives. I’d that easier to understand?

"HCQ won’t do it by itself - you will also need to obtain a Z-pack, aka azithromycin, to have the desired effect."

Not true. HCQ by itself also works...it just takes longer. Initial French study. Graph has been posted on FR multiple times.

Remind them that even water can kill you if misused.

Drowning for example, which is effectively the mechanism by which pneumonia actually kills you--the inflammation causes your lungs to fill with fluid so you drown.

When a physician orders a test he is already increasing the specificity by the fact he is ordering it for symptoms so you can increase the sensitivity to reduce false negatives. These are some of the reasons I say “we are blowing up standards that have been in place for decades by letting people get tests on demand,”. Laypeople tend not to understand these things and so cannot possibly hope to understand what the test results “actually mean”.

The traitors in the MSM will probably start reporting anonymous sources that say Jared Kushner or the Trump family has investments in a pharma company that produces hydroxychloroquine.

Based on Dr. Zelenko's protocol of HCL combined with Zinc Sulfate and Azithromycin, the presumed mechanism is: HCL breaks open the virus, which allows zinc to enter it and halt its replication. The Z-pack is there to protect the weakened patient from opportunistic infection while the body clears itself of the immobilized virus.

I suspect further study will show that those for whom HCL alone didn't work were zinc deficient. We normally get trace amounts of it from diet, but depending on what and how you eat those levels will vary.

Doesn’t matter. Sorry. I am trying to answer you guys questions but it i s clear to me most of you really don’t understand Medical Testing, Statistics, Pharmacology, Epidemiology, etc. physicians rarely use this stuff because epidemics are so rare but, trust me, it takes 7-10 years to get Board Certification and along the way there are some 5-7 “Exams” one has to take. This stuff was on every exam I took over TWO residencies. It stands to reason you want to know this stuff well because you can bet your ass there will be 20 questions or more on the exam. You’re stupid if you don’t prepare for what you KNOW is coming. On these exams you only want to miss the questions that blindside you.

I read that, but I believe I also noticed they were unable to drop any of it to zero or even close to zero with just HCQ by the end of the study timeframe. It was trending down, but that’s not the same as the AZM plus HCQ dropping it to zero.
