We’ve been had and Trump knows it

While President Trump closed the US border against entry from China at the end of January, his overall instinct was right. The CCP virus was nasty, but no worse than a supercharged flu.

Health professionals overwhelmed Trump and his inner circle with doomsday scenarios, bullied by panic obsessed virologists and epidemiologists -- begging for attention and copying the alarmist playbook from the climate/global warming extremists, allied with the MSM Trump-haters.

And now the government has completely suffocated economic demand, creating a depression, an unnecessary calamity that is destroying lives, livelihoods, families, and fortunes for a generation. It is becoming apparent that the end-of-the-world predictions, computer models warning of an apocalyptic black plague worldwide, are all wrong.

Those paying attention were warned that the worse-case scenarios were hysterical, by the likes of Stanford epidemiologist John P.A. Ioannidis.

In dramatic fashion UK Imperial College scientist Neil Ferguson published a doomsday scenario on March 16. Now just ten days later, he has reversed his outlook, essentially settling on a prediction no worse than a bad flu season.

Most telling, the two US public health icons, Drs Fauci and Birx, are both saying the extreme models that provoked extreme measures, bear little resemblance to the actual data on the ground. From the New England Journal of Medicine March 26 co-authored by Fauci :

We’ve learned an awful lot about people who post regularly right here on FR. It’s been eye-opening for sure.

I’m amazed at how many seemingly intelligent people can’t understand that they can maintain their own personal isolation while at the same time minding their own damn business when it comes to everyone else.

Here’s where FReepers like me differ from you, Travis:

I wouldn’t be standing next to either one of these people even if you gave me a full biohazard suit to wear. Nobody has to tell me that, either.

Correct.

Well... You know that 78.90 % of statistics are made up on the fly.

Here are some facts: The US has a population of about 330 million . 2,000 TOTAL people have died of Corona as was stated on Saturday by the msm. So do the math to see that your chance of dying of corona is one out of 165,000 . So 2,000 people have died ... and 8,000 people die EVERY day in the United States! How do you reconcile these statistics with your pour point whatever percent of people die? Can't be done.

If he thought an overwhelming majority of Americans were happy with the idea of eating horse crap for lunch, he’d be up there on national television telling everyone how great/incredible/wonderful/fantastic it is.

I don't think so.

The man has lived a long life and seen a lot. He's got excellent political instincts. He made an easily defensible decision that we have to pause to see how potent it was.

He sees what will be obvious to others soon, that it's not as serious as was being sold.

No horse crap here. Nothing complicated.

Personally, I prefer that we err on the side of caution.

You're trying to turn erring into a virtue. It's not.

What you call "erring on the side of caution" is flirting with the second Great Depression. What's being done to the economy is a big deal.

Still unsure whether Ferguson directing Saudi-funded J-IDEA at the Imperial College is a concern. https://www.alj.com/en/news/rapid-response-research-centre-to-predict-and-prevent-global-health-crises/

Then he got steamrolled. And I would bet big money Ivanka is one of them behind it.

I don't think he got steamrolled. I think he didn't want to get caught in a tsunami of panic. He paused everything for two weeks so we could see how serious things were.

OK - since you guys have all the answers:

What will be the final number of people who die from this (give an over/under) - and what do you think that number would have been had Trump and Pence not enacted Phase 2C of the "U .S. Government COVID - 19 Response Plan?"

What are the numbers? In case you are ignorant of that plan - it says "cancellation of almost all sporting events, performances, and public and private meetings that can not be convened by phone Consider school closures. Issue widespread “ stay at home ” directives for public and private organizations, with nearly 100 % telework for some, although critical public services and infrastructure may need to retain skeleton crews" - you know - the stuff you guys are blaming all the state governors for...

After all - I see the flu numbers put out there all the time with absolute certainty - so quantify this with equal boldness - right here - right now. If Phase 2C had NOT been enacted - and life in America had just gone on as normal - what do you think the final numbers would have been - and what WILL the final numbers BE (let's call the end date the OFFICIAL end of flu season - 30 Sept). I will bookmark this page - and we will revisit it when 1) that date comes and goes or 2) we pass your number.

All flubros are invited to post their numbers. Put up or - well - you know....

...and, at 4 cents a pill, there's no money in hydroxychloroquine.

Which is why there will not be widespread tests of effectiveness. There's no money in it.

Big Pharma needs much, much, much more than $.04/pill.

To date there have been 670,000 confirmed cases... With roughly 40,000 deaths... Times the amount of cases by a conservative factor of 10 (it should really be 15 because most people who get sick will never go to a doctor and lots will have it an not even know it) So the true amount of people who have actually had the virus goes to 6.7 million people... Giving us a liberal morality rate of 0.46% (remember, if we factored the amount of confirmed cases by 15 this would be a much lower 0.3%)

So if every living soul on earth were to actually get this virus... 34,960,000 would die... Do the 15 factor and that goes down to 22,800,000 people.

Lets face the facts... Despite the heartfelt wishes of the governors of California and New York that 80% of the population will be infected... Lets come up with a more likely (but still far fetched) figure of half the worlds population of 7.6 billion people getting the virus.

By a factor of 10 - 17,480,000 deaths and if we do it by a factor of 15 - 11,400,000 deaths. So my guess... 9 million give or take world wide. That's how many people die.

The good news... Roughly 360 thousand new children are born every day on earth, so it will only take 25 days to recover that population loss.

Because the disease is ongoing. It is increasing by about 20-25% a day. You have no idea how many people will die. All you know is that if you get the virus in the US, there is a 2% chance you will die(yesterday’s %) and that percentage goes up every day.
If we can get the % of daily increases per day to go down, we stand a chance of beating this thing. Yes, 2,190 people have died but last week, you could have said less than 500 people died so it’s a useless number unless you are one of them.

We can easily find out the death rate on the back end with antibody tests. It’s how they were able to revise the swine flu down to 0.02%

President Trump forced the Globalist’s to show a few of their cards.

President Trump proffered to quarantine New York city.
That was not in the Globalist playbook.

Cuomo said that was not legal.
How is forcing people to stay home legal?

I predict the dire forecast of 100’s of thousands of deaths will not materialize.
President Trump will have facts on his side to re-open the country on Easter

The question is what is the real death rate.

The difference between a 3% death rate and and a .3 % death rate is very significant.

If the true death rate is .03%, then yes, we’ve been had.

...died so it’s a useless number unless you are one of them.

And that is exactly my point . You take a tragic story and extrapolate from that to a national tragedy which it's not. 8,000 people, that is 8,000 people, die in the United States every day, from what we don't know, you can say it's corona or what but eight thousand people die every day and we have a total of 2,000 total to date. It will be...frankly i'm surprised you fell for this. Do the numbers.

” and we have a total of 2,000 total to date. “

Brilliant. In 1918, there was a point where we only had 2,000 dead total. Eventually, we had hundreds of dead.

At some point in history, only 2,000 had died of cancer.
