We’ve been had and Trump knows it
American Thinker ^ | March 28, 2020 | Geoffrey P. Hunt

While President Trump closed the US border against entry from China at the end of January, his overall instinct was right. The CCP virus was nasty, but no worse than a supercharged flu.

Health professionals overwhelmed Trump and his inner circle with doomsday scenarios, bullied by panic obsessed virologists and epidemiologists -- begging for attention and copying the alarmist playbook from the climate/global warming extremists, allied with the MSM Trump-haters.

And now the government has completely suffocated economic demand, creating a depression, an unnecessary calamity that is destroying lives, livelihoods, families, and fortunes for a generation. It is becoming apparent that the end-of-the-world predictions, computer models warning of an apocalyptic black plague worldwide, are all wrong.

Those paying attention were warned that the worse-case scenarios were hysterical, by the likes of Stanford epidemiologist John P.A. Ioannidis.

In dramatic fashion UK Imperial College scientist Neil Ferguson published a doomsday scenario on March 16. Now just ten days later, he has reversed his outlook, essentially settling on a prediction no worse than a bad flu season.

Most telling, the two US public health icons, Drs Fauci and Birx, are both saying the extreme models that provoked extreme measures, bear little resemblance to the actual data on the ground. From the New England Journal of Medicine March 26 co-authored by Fauci :

they will NEVER admit they were wrong. They have this set up perfectly where no matter what happens they will claim they were right.

IF nothing happens, they will say the steps we took prevented it.

LOL

either way they win, and the economy loses.

49 deaths in Japan, 160 million people, no lock downs.

Yup... this is real serious stuff, if you lock down like Italy, Spain, the US other western countries have done.

Lock downs were a mistake from the start. In China, the only province locked down was Hubei (and the lock down is over)... Total deaths over 3,000... The rest of the country with no lock downs... Less than 100. Even if the Chinese are fudging their figures, it’s still proof positive that locking down doesn’t work... Especially when you look at Japan.

Japan was the first country to have a case outside of China.... And check out Hong Kong with less than 10 deaths... Congested areas with no lock downs and low death rates from the virus.

We have all been hoodwinked into destroying our economies and Asia is booming. Surprise, surprise.

Dr. Death(Fauci) advised Trump to shut the country down.
Something he hover advised Obama to do during the swine flu outbreak.

Dr Death(Fauci) needs to be let go at once.
However it won't happen. At least not for now because of the optics, but he is dead man walking.

So true... It’s kind of like global warming... They changed the name to ‘climate change’ and now if it’s warm they were right, if it’s cold they were right, if it rains they were right, etc, etc.

They’ve set up a win win scenario... Pathetic!

I don’t believe that for an instant. POTUS works on getting the best deal for America. Sometimes the best deals are not perfect. He signed off on budgets with pork he was unhappy with to get the money to remediate the military as one of many examples.

Don’t confuse some of these inevitable compromises with wishy thinking. He is pragmatic & he is moving the ball down the court. Anyone who thinks POTUS does one thing because he is pandering is being fooled.

DJT will play the organ stops to show he is doing what his supporters like when that happens to be the truth but he will explain the unpopular actions as well. POTUS needs to be re-elected to move America into a better path domestically with a rejuvenated manufacturing sector & economy, internationally with a network of trade deals, militarily so that we have the power & defense & do not need to use them, by decreasing regulatory drag and by returning power to the states & communities. To be elected in 2020 POTUS has to educate the public on why he does what he does. He is doing a great job.

May I say there were less offensive ways of expressing your sentiments & I question why you chose to be gratuitously offensive.

Your comments about the untested works with both sides of the equation. For the number of people not tested that have the virus there are an equal amount of deaths that go untested and attributed to flu, complications, whatever. The estimated death rate once established will be far above the common flu. That along with the fact this is a new virus where humans have no immunity through previous exposure make it extremely concerning. We still don’t understand the long term effects of this. Permanent lung damage, recurrence, organ injury, who knows! We all need to settle down and trust in our government led by POTUS Trump.

The looters forked President Trump the same way they Forked President George ‘Dubya’ Bush in the fall of 2008.

Well, at the bottom of the article there’s a note saying it was published on February 28. And the disclosure form says Fauci submitted it to the journal on Feb 16. Maybe it was updated on March 26 or something but the original date of publication was a month earlier.

"Weakened" alright.

I'm retired so my financial exposure is probably not typical of the average American and I suffered little with the crash of the market.

I do have neighbors and others that I know who were set to retire in the next year or so. They did not fare as well.

Looking at what has happened on Wall Street this month, I can see a lot of delayed retirements.

Some of the things I've read suggest that it's probably going to take at least ten to fifteen years after this is over to approach the levels we had last January.

I've got no crystal ball and am in no way qualified to make these types of projections, but having been a part of this game for the past thirty or so years and seen how the market reacted to some of those developments, I can't say that this prediction is wrong.

Trump was smart enough to know that he was in completely new territory as President of the United States. For the first time in his life, he was answering to a “board of directors” who operate independently and have their own agendas.

He surely knows that fighting against GOP Senators and House members who are elected by wide margins in their own states and districts is generally a losing proposition.

If they were, then there would be a run on rope supplies.
= = = = = = =
AND - once they realized what it was for, they would legislate against it.

You create tyranny when you allow individuals to vote for their OWN interests, be it in form of bonuses or HUGE retirement funds.

One of the reasons we will NEVER see term limits, the rules are fixed so THEY have to vote on it....

DUH!!!!!

By reelecting the same old ‘trash’ year after year, ‘WE’ prove that ‘WE’ are our own worst enemy.

The MAIN problem being we can all ‘sit around’ and agree that ALL POLITICIANS are scoundrels, crooks, blackhearts, Schiff heads etc etc etc but there is ALWAYS that caveat-

EXCEPT mine, he/she/it is a pretty good person etc.

Then we sit back after an elections and wonder why the same old ‘fartz’ are back in power.

If you think Post #8 was offensive at all — let alone “gratuitously offensive” — then I’m going to suggest perhaps you are being ridiculously hyper-sensitive here.

Yep - and it has shown that a number of FReepers have been blowing smoke for years...kind of pathetic when a premiere conservative site turns out to have so many run of the mill sheep who think everyone but them should carry any of the load or bear the standard of FReedom....they mock certain Dems for the NIMBY meme and turn out to be as wishy-washy as those they mock.
