Die Thälmann Kolonne (the Thälmann Battalion)--Ernst Busch (1938)
Ernst Busch fought for the Spanish Republic as a member of the International Brigades. The unit in question was named for Ernst Thälmann, chairman of the Communist Party of Germany, who was murdered at Buchenwald in 1944.
