"RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today issued a statewide order to protect the health and safety of Virginians and reduce the spread of the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19. Executive Order Fifty-Three orders the closure of certain non-essential businesses, bans all gatherings of more than 10 people, and closes all K-12 schools for the remainder of the academic year. Governor Northam is also urging all Virginians to avoid non-essential travel outside the home, if and when possible."

"Public Gatherings

All gatherings of more than 10 people are banned statewide, beginning at 11:59 PM on Tuesday, March 24, 2020. This does not include gatherings that involve the provision of health care or medical services, access to essential services for low-income residents, such as food banks; operations of the media; law enforcement agencies; or operations of government."

. . . verbiage omitted . . .

"The following retail businesses are considered essential and may remain open during normal business hours:

Grocery stores, pharmacies, and other retailers . . .

Beer, wine, and liquor stores;

Retail functions of gas stations and convenience stores; . . .

Laundromats and dry cleaners."

"What about religious services? Can I still go to my church, synagogue, or mosque?

Virginians are strongly encouraged to seek alternative means of attending religious services, such as virtually or via “drive-through” worship. Places of worship that do conduct inperson services must limit gatherings to 10 people, to comply with the statewide 10-person ban.

The Mayor of Denver just ordered the liquor stores closed. Apparently, we’re going to bring Prohibition back for the next few weeks.

And the press. Why does the press get a waiver?

How in the F are liquor stores essential services?

The “essential” part is that the state must continue milking the cash cow.

If we are truly trying to get these kids educated and ready for adulthood, why do they even have summers off?
I thought I was from the old days when the crops had to be brought in.

The same thing happened here in Kentucky. Our governor closed churches and non-essential businesses, but left the liquor stores open. He is a Democrat, of course.

Maybe he’s doing a better job of looking out for churchgoers than drinkers.

But really, how often do crowds meet in the liquor stores?

People will sit ten times longer in the government DMVs waiting for service than in a church.

Has the governor closed down the department of motor vehicles?

As a pastor in virginia I find this very insulting to try to follow this.

Good! My neighbor commented that this is a time to run toward God, not away from him.

Hrs not king. Civil disobedience is in order. This hoax is a leftist ploy to destroy the U.S. He doesn’t have the authority to tell people they can’t work or to attend church. Carry on normally.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

All distilled spirits are sold at STATE-RUN Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control locations, commonly known as Virginia ABC stores.

Forget private citizens having to forego their livelihoods by closing their businesses, the STATE will stay open to get their money, regardless.

Yeah and Gov. Blackface goes on to complain about "lack of guidance" from the president and "misinformation and mixed messages".

He further says that "As I have said we are essential fighting a biological war now and I expect our president" to "except that" give "support and guidance". We have not be given that "guidance".

We have the worst governor in the union.

Have attendees sit in their cars in the parking lot. Bluetooth the audio. Heard about it today.

The politicians in Colorado have tended, over the last 20 years, to be real assholes. California influence, for sure.
