"RICHMONDGovernor Ralph Northam today issued a statewide order to protect the health and safety of Virginians and reduce the spread of the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19. Executive Order Fifty-Three orders the closure of certain non-essential businesses, bans all gatherings of more than 10 people, and closes all K-12 schools for the remainder of the academic year. Governor Northam is also urging all Virginians to avoid non-essential travel outside the home, if and when possible."

The “essential” part is that the state must continue milking the cash cow.
If we are truly trying to get these kids educated and ready for adulthood, why do they even have summers off?

The same thing happened here in Kentucky. Our governor closed churches and non-essential businesses, but left the liquor stores open. He is a Democrat, of course.
Maybe he’s doing a better job of looking out for churchgoers than drinkers.
But really, how often do crowds meet in the liquor stores?

All distilled spirits are sold at STATE-RUN Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control locations, commonly known as Virginia ABC stores.
Forget private citizens having to forego their livelihoods by closing their businesses, the STATE will stay open to get their money, regardless.

The politicians in Colorado have tended, over the last 20 years, to be real assholes. California influence, for sure.
