GOJO, the maker of Purell hand sanitizer, is facing two class-action lawsuits accusing it of "misleading claims" that it can prevent "99.9 percent of illness-causing germs." The most recent lawsuit, filed by four people March 13 in federal court for the Northeastern District of Ohio, comes as retailers scramble to keep hand sanitizer in stock amid a coronavirus outbreak that has infected more than 230,000 people around the world and forced millions of Americans to stay at home indefinitely.
Purell's label states the product can kill "99.9 percent of illness-causing germs." The suit claims that it's misleading because it implies "sound scientific support when none exists."
"These claims lack a scientific basis, rendering the affirmative misrepresentations misleading," the lawsuit says.
In a statement, GOJO president and CEO Carey Jaros called the accusations "without merit" and said that the company stands "100 percent behind the products."

Purell disinfectant hand soap is not on the EPAs list of chemical products shown to be effective aging covad19, and GoJo doesnt claim that it does.
Why now? Freakin socialists....

Arrrggh!
What portable hand-cleaning product —does— kill it?
I was using some 409 cleaner the other day and noticed that it claimed that it killed 99.99% of germs. I was not even using it for that but as a general cleaner.
409 is great stuff for cleaning. But remember that killing bacteria and killing viruses are two entirely different things because they are entirely different forms of life.
Something can "kill 100% of germs" (if they mean bacteria) and not touch viruses except peripherally by accident. And vice versa.
For example, antibiotics are worthless against viruses.
Bleach kills both viruses and bacteria.
Don’t touch door knobs, grocery cart handles and toilet flush levers.
And.........don’t pick your nose. If you feel the uncontrollable need to stick your finger in something.....uh I had better stop there.
What else kills virii?
Looking for something portable, what would fit in a small purell container...
Lawsuit happy lawyers are always looking to profit from the latest scare or the least bit of an infraction by a company. Even though Roundup does not cause cancer and baby powder doesn’t cause ovarian cancer, lawyers have still raked in millions by convincing gullible jurors that they do.
For what it's worth, so does garlic.
I think viruses on surfaces are easier to kill than germs.
Inside you it is pretty much your body’s defenses and whatever helps your body to fend them off.
I have read that there is some indication that tetracycline will help against viruses but not sure.
What portable hand cleaner does kill it?
This link will show you a list of cleaning products that the EPA has deemed effective against covad19. There are a variety of search parameters available.

Bump
Does anything beat good old-fashioned Clorox?
A virus is a piece of protein and not even alive, although it is capable of replicating itself with the help of a living host. So is it a germ and can it be killed?
Know what a Fingernail Brush is? People would work with their hands know.
*You're a Plugger if you wash your hands before you use the bathroom.
I worked for a company in the same industry as GoJo and am certain they know exactly what they can and cannot claim about their products. It's the homeopathic and "natural" products so dear to the "Progressives" who get caught up in FDA snares.
Remember the Cheerios lawsuit? All charges were thrown out of court recently after a four year trial.
And quite picking your nose.

Soap and water kills them just fine.
