Democrats act as if the necessities of life will magically appear regardless of whether people work. Let's pay for everyone's lost wages with a wealth tax!

As if any of the illegal aliens these dopes have been sheltering for the last few years have any intention of obeying a stupid lockdown order. LOL.

Thanks to Albany’s profligate spending, NYS is billions in the hole.

We don’t have the money to deal with this.

I suspect the lockdown is Albany’s last desperate attempt to conceal that.

BTW, Albany, if your plastic bag ban has helped spread the WuFlu, God help you.

Anyone plotting the growth curve of deaths due to economic cratering?

I’m in Upstate NY. The next warm day, I’m off to my garden to plant spinach and lettuce.

Agreed. These governors are causing far too much unemployment and human suffering. And the longer term damage to the economy indicates further continuing harms can be expected

I visited Russia back in the 70s for about a week (part of a college student-exchange thing).

Streets of Moscow basically deserted, few shops, no billboards, etc.

Only people on the street were:

- on the trolleys going to-from work (with not a word spoken when the thing broke down for about 20 minutes)
- shopping at the beet-potatoes-and-cabbage store, the bakery bread line, etc.
- babushka-ladies street sweeping, an occasional soldier

Is any of this beginning to sound familiar?

Democrats have always dreamed of this level of financial destruction and a reboot into socialism.

I give it two to four weeks.

Predictions are for fools but I will play the fool and make a prediction.

I predict that the numbers on new cases have “plateau” and with the discovery of drugs that will if not cure at least help patients. With this announcement everyone will be free to return to their normal life.

Meanwhile borders will remained locked down for awhile longer.

A long term prediction is that our dependency on China for much of our good will come to an end.

The southern border wall will be built even faster.

This needs to be repeated over and over again! What's happening now is that millions are being forced to be unemployed. This will cause a recession and untold misery. The solution is NOT for the government to pay peoples' bills and send everyone money. That will lead to 3 trillion more in the deficit.
Millions of people are forced to sit at home and produce nothing. The country sorely needs everyone to be productive. Unemployment funds will be negative and go way below negative.
A$$holes in government put people out of work. This will cause very serious problems - economic disruption, and sending everyone a check will make it worse.

And that includes some Republicans.

CONSPIRACY THEORY:
The whole thing is a test run by the Deep State to see how tightly they can control the population, and for how long.

Now people can see first hand what socialism is really like. Bare shelves at the Piggly Wiggly, no jobs, and an overrun health care system. See if this is what they still want.

It ain’t just democrats. Maryland’s RINO Governor has jumped in. While he’s done a great job in many respects, his inner totalitarian comes out too often.

Maryland has three major water reservoirs. There is lots of recreation around them. They just shut off the entire area to hiking, horseback riding, kayaking, fishing etc.

These are all for the most part solo activities. Worse, last week millions were laid off, mostly in the service sector many of whom will be unable to weather the storm. Fishing is a means of getting free food and it’s now illegal.

Blue state governors and demonstrates a fundamental lack of understanding of how the economy works. (Murphy may have been CEO of Goldman-Sachs but I've never been convinced that what Goldman-Sachs does has much to do with the productive economy.)

A business might be deemed "non-essential" by gov't but provide an essential component to manufacture a ventilator or a chemical component of a drug that treats the disease.

Yet another reason to move your business to a Red state.

Idiots.

The speed at which the government-ordered clampdown has escalated is remarkable.

Well; we got away with THAT; so let's try THIS!

Mark Levin was all over this on his show last night. On his Sunday night Fox News show his guests are going to be Mike Pence and Dr. Fauci. I suspect both are in for some very pointed questions.

“Last week most businesses were still operating albeit at reduced capacity”

That was sensible. But secret Nazis can’t control their overwhelming urge for total control.
