There will be no funeral ceremonies or visitations in New York state because of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s executive order Friday that bans all gatherings during the coronavirus shutdown.
Bodies will continue to be buried or cremated, but funeral services for relatives and other mourners must take place later, said Mike Lanotte, executive director and CEO of the NYS Funeral Directors Association.
Even families will not be permitted to attend services, Lanotte said.
