It ain’t just democrats. Maryland’s RINO Governor has jumped in. While he’s done a great job in many respects, his inner totalitarian comes out too often.

Maryland has three major water reservoirs. There is lots of recreation around them. They just shut off the entire area to hiking, horseback riding, kayaking, fishing etc.

These are all for the most part solo activities. Worse, last week millions were laid off, mostly in the service sector many of whom will be unable to weather the storm. Fishing is a means of getting free food and it’s now illegal.

I'd contact my state legislators ASAP. Here in PA we have had some adjustments to the 'Corona Curtain' due to well-reasoned pushback. Initially the governor closed all the turnpike rest areas and replaced them with port-a-potties. There has been some improvement on that front, although services are still limited. The rationale was that truckers delivering food and TP need to be able to stop and have reasonable facilities available to them. The second thing we've seen is that initially the state parks were closed to the point of barricading the parking lots. The parking lots are now open and people encouraged to walk for exercise (and sanity) as long as they remain at safe distances. Our county was shut down very early (down to essential services a week ago already) because we led PA in cases. On the positive side, people are really connecting and supporting one another around here, and our case load has not gone into the stratosphere, despite neighboring NY and NJ.
