MARYSVILLE, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) - Honda announced it is suspending production of all North American automobile production plants due to COVID-19.

The suspension will begin March 23 and last for six days. The plan as of Wednesday is to resume production March 31.

"As the market impact of the fast-changing COVID-19 situation evolves, Honda will continue to evaluate conditions and make additional adjustments as necessary. In undertaking this production adjustment, Honda is continuing to manage its business carefully through a measured approach to sales that aligns production with market demand," said Honda in a release.

The company says it “will continue full pay for employees.”

The affected auto plants include:

Ohio:

Marysville Auto Plant East Liberty Auto Plant Performance Manufacturing Center

Indiana:

Honda Manufacturing of Indiana

At least long enough to destroy Trump, get biden in there, give about 6 months to make it not so obvious, and then “miraculous” vaccines and a yuge economic recovery will appear.

If we always say “it’s the economy stupid” what does that mean for 2020?

We here know what’s going on.

How much credit are you willing to give the American public in general?

It’s a UAW operation, so they’re almost certainly obligated to pay the furloughed workers.

The UAW was trying to get the Big Three plants to close for “safety” reasons. Honda is doing this because they aren’t selling cars.

“At least the article indicates employees will receive pay. “

For doing what? Sitting at home or shopping for toilet paper? Whenever we get through this recession - maybe depression - this event will eventually prod more automation. Robots don’t get covid-19.

"How much credit are you willing to give the American public in general?"

I do not give the unwashed masses of the American public much credit to make rational decisions in electing our leadership. Demographic changes over the last 30 years, the end of the FCC fairness doctrine and the USSC Citizen United decision coupled with social media evolution has created fertile ground for mining votes through emotion rathet than logic.

And it’s sickening.

I’m a worrier by nature but I have to believe that are many reasons Trump was elected and the economy was just 1 of them.

And I’m hoping a majority will see the scam going on here when they vote.

Insanity is a bigger and massively more deadly virus than Cov-19 in the U.S. today.

It is a mushrooming de facto shut down of EVERYTHING.

It is not a sane approach.

They’ll just stop talking about it in the media. The media is what keeps it going or not going...as they did with Obama’s h1n1, swine flu.
