New York’s total number of coronavirus cases is up to 923 with 10 deaths as of Tuesday, Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) said.
“The number’s gone up literally over a hundred cases in the course of the day. We’re at 923 cases at th his hour tonight, 10 people who have passed away,” de Blasio said on MSNBC Tuesday evening. It’s unbelievable how rapidly this crisis is growing right now.”
Asked by MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow whether the city was still considering a “shelter in place” order akin to that of San Francisco, the mayor responded “This is something, as I said at a press conference today, that could only be done in conjunction with the state of New York. What I’m trying to say to people is, look at this movement, we’re seeing, it’s tragic.”
“The idea of shelter in place has to be considered now, it has to be done between, in our case, the city and state working together, respecting the state’s role,” de Blasio added, saying his intent was to communicate that New Yorkers should “get ready for the possibility, because it’s not so distant an idea at this point.”

Nevermind the fact that we are going to destroy everything ever American before us worked so hard to create.
They kinda left that out didn’t they. Also some people are considered compromised...like my friend with diabetes.
Honestly? I don’t even think we can believe the numbers being reported.
I trust all levels of government not at all anymore.
I’ve not met ONE person who knows a person who knows a person that has this thing.
And if its’s 10, what were the ages and prior conditions?
Because everyone that is well known that gets it seems to be quite fine.
Shouldn’t tom hanks be in intensive care somewhere fighting for his life??
The Bad part of an epidemic is the part where LOTS of people die.
So many that you can’t keep up with burying your dead.
This is a deep state-demic.
A farce.
And so many on the right are falling for it that it’s a disgrace.
Leaving the heartland and southern states that are falling for it may make some of you feel better or superior, but you should open your eyes.

It’s not the 10 deaths that is the concern. It’s that a single infected person can easily affect and infect others into triple digits in a eye blink in time.
Far more efficient than a zombie.
Perhaps, that will help you to understand, or not.
For sure, the media will eventually give us ALL the details...every single one of them.

They are not giving we the people the real story. Sounds to me like if your 60 or up you’re screwed unless your pretty healthy. I’m 68 and I’ll bet a $100 I don’t walk off this planet. I read it leaves damage in even the young people’s lungs. I rode Navy ships with asbestos everywhere and smoked years ago. Killing America ain’t worth all this feces. IMHO.

death rate of those 923 cases is .0-0-0-0-0-1-1-4-9 %.
NYC population is 8.7 mil. 8,700,000.
NYC is a giant petri dish.
NYC is about to explode.
I didn’t post the t but I’ll venture that it’s not because they are useless or worthless, but, because statistically many die of viral pneumonia every day.
So many of us are not sure this is a crisis.
Not because we don’t value the elderly. Many of us are elderly.
But because it is sadly normal for hundreds? Of the elderly to die of pneumonia each day?
“10 deaths? Oh no, please no. We need to shut down everything, right now and for the foreseeable future!”
That is ten where there were none last week. If you study the Italian progression rates they could be at 500 by next week. Worse, they will have exhausted 100% of available ICU beds.
OK, with that I can agree.
Focus on the groups with the highest death rate, and those outside those groups that are in serious or critical condition.
