Coronavirus doctor says lung scans for young patients were ‘nothing short of terrifying’

A Belgian doctor working to battle the coronavirus says he’s treated several seriously ill young patients — and their lung scans were “nothing short of terrifying,” according to reports.

Dr. Ignace Demeyer, who works at a hospital in Aalst, said an increasing number of people between the ages of 30 and 50 have presented with severe symptoms, despite having “blank medical records” that show no underlying conditions that would make them high-risk, the Brussels Times reported.

“They just walk in, but they are terribly affected by the virus,” Demeyer told the Belgian broadcaster VRT.

He said CT scans indicated they were suffering from severe lung damage.

“The images we took yesterday are nothing short of terrifying,” the doctor told the station.

“Yeah, probably just smokers, so eff them. Lettum die, serves em right.”

Yeah, that’s exactly what I said, Greta McGee.

Now I let you go back to humping their lungs because it gave you a headline to wave around.

Blanking retard.

Slight problem is that the statistics on who has died just don’t bear this out.

What are the stats for communist China?

“Sick is something you can recover from.”

If you mean survive, yes. If you mean you were a healthy young doctor, nurse, paramedic, cop, firefighter, no, you are just surviving.

You won’t be returning to full duty to continue the fight.

You’ll be a semi-invalid like a WW1 mustard gas survivor.

Out of the fight when you are needed most.

”[…] would indicate that young people [emphasis added] can get infected, and will usually not die, but could have permanent lung damage."

Thanks. I’m glad that schools have temporarily closed down.

The average age of those who have died in this country is 80 and they all had underlying health issues that had compromised their immune system.

The Diamond Princess cruise ship was the perfect petri dish. Lots of people, in close quarters, lots of close socializing, and the majority older people. Know what the numbers were?

712 confirmed cases
7 deaths 1%
525 recovered 73.7%

The key is a healthy immune system. A compromised immune system lessens chance of recovery. The only reason I agree with all these closures is because on the totally unfounded panic that has griped this country. The panic has caused more damage by far, than has this virus. Given what transpired on the Diamond Princess cruise should open peoples eyes, but they still keep being influenced by unfounded fear.

I’d heard this weeks ago, that 25% of the younger people had some kind of scarring in the lungs.

They said better than a blood test was a lung X-Ray for detecting this.

The truth trickles out occasionally. The difference is younger people don’t die.

Yeah, Doctors, nurses, paramendics and cops “recovering” with ruined lungs is just a big joke. LOL, pal.

(You should be ashamed, while brave and selfless Italian medical personal are sacrificing so much.)

Reality check.

Two Emergency Room Doctors Are in Critical Condition With Coronavirus

The hospitalizations sharpen fears that the nation’s front-line medical workers could be uniquely vulnerable, a health care organization said.

Two emergency medicine doctors, in New Jersey and Washington State, are in critical condition as a result of coronavirus, reinforcing concerns that the nation’s front-line medical workers are becoming especially vulnerable to the virus, the American College of Emergency Physicians said.

“A lot of us think that despite everything we do, we will probably be exposed,” said Dr. William Jaquis, the chair of the group. Still, he said, “The first reported case certainly sends a shock wave through the community.”

Emergency rooms represent a busy intake point for hospitals, where patients come in with symptoms but no diagnosis. As the coronavirus spreads during the typical flu season, emergency physicians are triaging large numbers of patients around the country with symptoms that could be the virus.

I saw #44, wow, a cute cartoon really makes valid points. Let’s get the crayons out kids, cause, you know, when you can’t argue, retreat to your safe spaces on color.

Thanks for posting, T-Man!

And looks like no one there to really care for them. It looks like a “waiting to die” wing of a hospital.

Clearly, the patients damaged their lungs themselves as part of a political plot! (Yes, sarcasm.)

I used to have excellent lungs as a non smoker until I hit 79, 6years ago.

I developed IPF.

I am now wondering if IPF (Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis) could be caused by a corona virus, as you end up with lungs like a life long heavy smoker, and a shorter life span than a heavy smoker. -Tom

That’s what it is. And the guys in that ward with tubes and full oxygen pressure hoods are the “lucky” ones who passed the intake triage.

The older/sicker patients never made it to that ward. They had to be left to die.

True. But I’ve been listening to some big store clerks, and many of them near transportation hubs are seeing many infected customers per week in those stuffy places—some over 100,000 per month. Yet, they are prohibited in many underhanded ways from wearing anything to protect themselves (”Wut?” “Like the flu,” facial expressions, hints, gestures, etc.). I recently saw a “manager” (supervisor) hurrying five stockers to unload items from the same pallet at once. They were huffing, puffing and lifting, and they know better than to take time off for injuries and illnesses.

Be careful in those big stores, and take their written policies with a grain of salt. Many of those clerks are uninsured and have older folks at home. They are desperate to continue working for those little incomes.
