Sick and tired of this nonsense... It's time for Trump to step up and declare the media a nuisance that must be reigned in from reporting nonsense. Freedom of the press is fine if the press is reporting the news. When they become hysterical and start damaging the economy to the determent of millions who already live in poverty and decay, it's time to put a kibosh on it... All news regarding this virus should be off limits and reported only by government sources, not liberal minded news outlets with a political agenda of destroying the economy.
It's drastic and it will clearly be criticized, but such measures are obviously required to save the liberal media from encouraging mass confusion and unwarranted hysteria.

I like when Freepers post vanities in which they advocate handing our Constitutional rights to the executive branch. The irony is like salt on a nice steak.
I keep hearing about test kits.The reality is the reaction to the virus is worse than the virus. Test kits do not help anyone. They do not stop the virus. They just give larger numbers to the media. You can’t stop this virus. You can only try to stop the panic.
People need to look at a few important facts. Iceland has 58 cases. The Maldives in the middle of the Indian ocean has 4 cases. Perth a city all alone on the other side of the Australian desert has 4 cases. Hawaii has 2 cases. Martinique has two cases. Nigeria has two cases. There is no corner of the world that has been spared from the virus.
So test kits only give us larger numbers. They don’t help us stop this. We cannot stop this. We can only let it flow over us.
Lets remember tests don’t tell you about a person having the virus. It tells you whether you have the virus now. Lets say you are on a cruise ship. You test negative. 3 days later you come to a port. Was that test valid? Or do you need a new test? Tests can be important. But they solve very little.
The press is problematic. They are still trying to stop the virus. They are trying to cause panic. They want to complain. Jim Cramer is going nuts right now. He wants to stop the world so he can stop the virus. All it will help is to stop the economy. The virus will keep going across the world.
This is what happens when the DS bad guys are never prosecuted for years on end. They’re literally allowed to get away with murder, and instead, create a two-tier justice system within the country. THEY run the country via of a shadow govt. instead of our elected govt. THEY belong in cells, or better yet; coffins, NOT running the country subversively.

Tell me test kits don’t matter in May when the hospitals are overwhelmed and can no longer treat the infected. Trump is a fool for listening to the CDC and not imposing widespread travel bans and proactive testing. A responsive and proactive approach was demonstrated by South Korea and Singapore. With mass testing they were able to identify clusters and slow the spread with targeted quarantining. The CFR out of South Korea is remarkable when compared with other countries, namely Italy.
I agree we cannot stop the virus from spreading throughout the US. The goal should be slowing the infection to coincide with available patient care. If we fail to do this hospitals become overwhelmed and the CFR will rise beyond what it should be. I hope I’m wrong, but the more I see and hear leaves me unimpressed and disheartened by this administration.

Haiti has no test kits. But the other half of the Island is The Dominican Republic. They have the virus. Haiti has the virus. What they don’t have are test kits.
You are wrong. Proactive IS NOT WORKING. Japan is as proactive as anyone. They want so badly to keep the Olympics. Everything is shut. Museums, schools, concerts, even the cherry blossoms are closed. They have been closed for weeks. Still the number of cases in Japan goes up every night.
Everyone should just get it through their thick skulls. You will get the virus. Hitler could not stop it. The Chinese are not stopping it. They are just stopping the count. Our government cannot stop it. Our health system cannot stop it. Nobody’s health system can stop it. There is no corner of the earth that does not have the virus now.
The only question is how many lives you will damage virtue signaling by trying to stop it. Did you ever see the Movie “they died with their boots on. Errol Flynn played General Custer. Indians coming at him from all sides and he runs out of bullets and draws his sword. Then a thousand Indians run over him. This virus is Sitting Bull.
As far as test kits go. It does not matter. You can’t make enough kits. The people using the kits will not be trained. A person will show negative today. Tomorrow you have no idea. Are you going to test everybody, every day? You just want the kits because you want to know something that does not matter. There are no test kits for the flu. We get it. And we treat it if we have to.
I never said nor do I believe we will stop it. The goal is to keep the spread slow so as not to overwhelm local healthcare providers. This is what will keep the CFR low and the economy functioning. Overwhelm the system and panic is inevitable.
The panic comes from the test kits. You can call them panic kits. We are all sitting around watching the numbers going up. We are watching the closing and the stock market. We are panicking. But people are getting the virus without knowing it. All over America the virus is here. People have it. And they don’t know to panic. Because they are not tested.
I checked FR yesterday and I bet 1/3 or more of the posted threads were about the damn coronavirus.
Enough already! Give it a rest!
