The Manhattan lawyer hospitalized with coronavirus commuted regularly from his home in New Rochelle on the Metro-North Railroad, according to a report Tuesday.
But its unlikely that he used the citys subway system because his office is within walking distance of Grand Central Terminal, ABC News said, citing a source familiar with the case.
During a news conference Tuesday, MTA Chairman Pat Foye said transit officials dont know whether that patient traveled to New York City using public transportation or not.
Gov. Andrew Cuomos office said the mans movements were still being looked at.
But Mayor Bill de Blasio wouldnt discuss the matter during a City Hall news conference.
The subway is not the issue, the train is not the issue. The issue is prolonged, consistent contact, he said.
Coronavirus is believed to spread mainly through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes within about six feet of another person, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs, according to the CDC website.

TITLE: NYC lawyer with coronavirus in severe condition: Health Department
The Manhattan lawyer hospitalized with coronavirus is in severe condition, the city Health Department said Tuesday evening.
The lawyer, identified by sources as Lawrence Garbuz, 50, runs a boutique law firm with his wife that also employs one of their four kids as a paralegal, according to information posted online.
The seven-lawyer practice, Lewis & Garbuz, is located across the street from Grand Central Terminal and specializes in matters including personal planning and wealth management, estate litigation, guardianships and elder law, its website says.
The seven-lawyer practice,
Make that six.
Do they know how he got it..as in he had been to China or Italy?
Did this guy travel to northern Italy?
More great news. Like the LT from Full Metal Jacket said, its a huge shit sandwich and were all going to have to take a bite.
He's a fit, 50 year old runner.
Get better Mr. Garbuz... :(
RE: Do they know how he got it..as in he had been to China or Italy?
As far as they know, the man never traveled overseas. This is what they call,a COMMUNITY TRANSMISSION.
The person who infected him has not been found yet.
I heard earlier he has underlining medical issues
Did he lick the doorknobs on the train?
RE: Did he lick the doorknobs on the train?
You don’t even have to lick it. If a surface is infected and you accidentally touch it, you’re infected as well.
But it’s just a cold.
/Sarcasm off
“The person who infected him has not been found yet.”

I think in most instances from now on out that will be the case, there’s just too many possibilities. Even if you know somebody had been in Italy and probably got it there, it could have been anyone from anywhere just touching a doorknob or buffet table.
There’s enough existing infection routes in this country, too, that you don’t need to look overseas.
No one in the government said that
The worst mayor not just in NYC, but maybe maybe in all American, history:
Mayor Bill de Blasio wouldnt discuss the matter during a City Hall news conference.
The subway is not the issue, the train is not the issue. The issue is prolonged, consistent contact, he said.
There have been some freepers here saying that.
This is awful!
Prayers up for Mr. Garbuz and his family.
Great. I ride the Metro North New Haven line just about every day. I’ll be on a train again 7 hours from now. But I feel fine right now.
“The issue is prolonged, consistent contact, “
Not if he picked his nose then grabbed the hanging strap or hand pole.
Explain to me again about the benefits of public transportation...
Was curious so looked it up: Garbuz is a name found mostly in the Ukraine.
