It remains to be seen. There will be countries higher...like stupid Iran...and then there’s us...scared into compliance.
Please try to keep the nastiness to a minimum, please.
You really are asking a lot, but at least it isn’t the religion forum, so there may be some grounds for hope.
I wonder what data they are getting that is different from the rest us. The statement creates more questions than answers.
We were being told 2% for so long now. So misapprehensions about under-reporting were not unfounded.
COVID-19 Mortality Rate Ping
WHO says 3.4% mortality rate worldwide.
3.4%? OK,maybe. Averaging things out the death rate could be 6% in China,2% in Japan and South Korea,1.5% in Europe and 1% here.
WHO, headed by a Marxist who let thousands of his own people die in a cholera epidemic, has no credibility. The mediots take their pronouncements as gospel while demeaning and questioning our own people.
I always knew that 1% number was phony. And from what we are seeing reported then I think that this number is way too low too.
I am not sure we have accurate base numbers from China, and Iran.
Might be 2 percent.
The death rate is questionable because you are mixing different national statistics together. In China, they just sealed off Hubei province by force and told them to fend for themselves. In the US, we screen a ton of people and find the virus even though people show little or no symptoms. These people are counted in our statistics but not in China’s, who only count those dead and hospitalized. We saw that when we forced people together on that Princess cruise ship, a significant number got the virus. If we apply those statistics to Hubei province, we can estimate that there are a million infected, but only a few thousand deaths, which is much less than 1%.

What matters are total numbers. It is not a pandemic it is not even really an epidemic. It a minor disease outbreak being reckless exaggerated and hyped by bureaucrats trying to scare people into funding their rice bowls.
If this was the global crisis as being hyped by WHO and other bureaucracies , the death toll in China would be in the hundred of thousands or millions by now. The death rate would be in double digits across all demographics and groups.
It is not.
I’m just wondering if the WHO is still a “paid-off shill for the CCP”.
On FR it depends on the day.
3000 deaths in a world with 7 billion people is barely a rounding error. 3000 people is a small auditorium.
Im sorry, people that died or lost someone they loved. As a percentage of the total population of the world 3000 can barely be expressed.
Over 2 million people die every day of all causes. Heck probably 3 million people could die in a single day and we wouldnt even know it.
Take 3000 people over a span of 2 months that is about 50 a day of corona virus. I am not going to get scared of odds like that. Shame on the people that are fomenting fear over it.

The age old Cui Bono question, applies to what appears daily on FR and the many concerned and panicked posters. This is posted by Grampa Dave.

Always skewed
Key in the sentence is “of reported cases”. A large number of cases are not being officially diagnosed with tests, Only those receiving hospital care, as I understand. They’ve also said multiple times that about 8o%. are minor cases that don’t require advanced treatments and therefore don’t get officially tested. The full denominator isn’t really known.
I think I’ll reserve judgement on all the numbers and speculation for the time being.
I’ll wait and see what happens, with the knowledge that a good portion of what I read and hear is crap.
the death rate is far lower than the author says. Where does such bad information come from?
LOL. Good to see you, kristinn...but WHO let the germs out? No investigation, no accountability for the WMDs? Where’s Jorge when we need him? No protests at L4 labs?

(sorry, my snarkiness couldn’t resist. A lot of times this stuff is too horrific to contemplate)
The WHO also said closing borders and limiting movement makes things worse.
