The state legislature recently passed a bill that will allow transgender individuals to receive a new birth certificate, something advocates said will help transgender people acquire documentation in alignment with their identity. Senate Bill 657, sponsored by Sen. Jennifer Boysko, D-Fairfax, will allow a person to receive a new birth certificate to reflect the change of sex without the requirement of surgery. The individual seeking a new birth certificate also may list a new name if they provide a certified copy of a court order of the name change.
The bill requires proof from a health care provider that the individual went through "clinically appropriate treatment for gender transition." There is not a standard approach for an individual's transition. Treatment could include counseling, hormone therapy, sex reassignment surgery or a patient-specific approach from the medical provider.

I’m sorry, but we are anything but red. It’s the imports hijacking our lovely conservative state and making it a pit of vipers in the cities. About to post a red/blue map...
#MedMal
...and many of the “blue” counties were very, close to being red. Norfolk/Richmond/Tidewater areas messing us up totally :(
The birth certificate is largely beside the point. It’s your DNA that counts. You’re either XX or XY. All the faked up birth certificates in the world won’t change your DNA a bit.
And is there a limit to the number of times one can take advantage of this opportunity?
This is what happens when the left gains a razor thin legislative majority in a state
That is asinine
Can’t I claim I was reborn and take back my birth name?
I was born a poor Black child and my name was stolen from me when at 9 I was adopted and my birth certificate radically changed by a man who’s blood I do not carry.
I have felt disenfranchised my entire life...
/S
That did happen but, I would never want to change my name back, as the man who adopted me shaped my life foundation.
Just wondering. Only men have to register for Selective Service. If we needed to implement a draft, how many men would officially “identify” as something oher than male to avoid it?
Well, that is the thing.
If they are claiming a new identity because of surgery they should have to name the hospital, doctor and nurse who made them, the city, county, state etc in which their new birth took place...
slippery slope...wabbit season, duck season, wabbit season.......

Sodom and Egypt are historical markers.
Just a tiny fraction of what is coming —
Immediately followimg the graphic destruction of the religious and ecumenical world church, (the harlot who rides the beast), and its “false prophet” in Revelation 17 (teachers and scholars refer to as “Ecclesiastical Babylon”), and immediately before Armageddon itself, is the violent destruction of commercial Babylon of Revelation 18.
Some of its description —
It “sits on many waters (or literally “divides the waters”), “made the kings of the earth rich”, dominates world trade, the kings of the earth mourn the loss her global economic power, she exports all forms of sexual perversion, the “sea captains and sailors, and merchants” stop or halt shipping transit from a distance as they see the “smoke of her destruction rising”[!]
According to this prophetic text, its destruction includes fire.
Good point. I wonder if the SBA will issue regulations on this. Everyone should simply self declare that they meet the criteria for special treatment, be it gender, race, etc.
Does the virginia (virginia is for fascists) guv wear blackface when he signs bills? Just askin’ for a friend...
A virginia birth certificate will be totally useless as a form of identification once this bill passes. It will have the same truth content as Obama’s certificate of live birth (that is, none)
How can you use a birth certificate that can be legally altered to meet the requirements of “Real ID?” It doesn’t make any sense.
