The U.S. Department of Homeland Security offers tips for planning for a possible pandemic in relation to the Coronavirus on a preparedness website.
Ready.gov now contains a topic titled, Human Coronavirus Know the facts about Coronavirus. Public health is everyones responsibility. That website redirects to recommendations for how to prepare for a possible pandemic. DHS recommends storing a two-week supply of water and food. Officials also urge Americans to make sure they have all needed prescription medications filled for that time period.
Specifically, DHS recommends:
Before a Pandemic
Store a two week supply of water and food.
Periodically check your regular prescription drugs to ensure a continuous supply in your home.
Have any nonprescription drugs and other health supplies on hand, including pain relievers, stomach remedies, cough and cold medicines, fluids with electrolytes, and vitamins.
Get copies and maintain electronic versions of health records from doctors, hospitals, pharmacies and other sources and store them, for personal reference. Get help accessing electronic health records.
Talk with family members and loved ones about how they would be cared for if they got sick, or what will be needed to care for them in your home.
If a pandemic should break out in the United States, officials urge the public to take steps to limit the spread of the germs to prevent infection. Tips include staying away from those who might be sick, frequent hand washing, and avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with your fingers.
DHS recommends:
During a Pandemic
Limit the Spread of Germs and Prevent Infection (emphasis below copied from website, not added by writer)
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
When you are sick, keep your distance from others to protect them from getting sick too.

Problem is, NH is getting the influx from Mass and that affects the politics.
I fear that all states are going that way and short of a massive red wave claiming back some old ground, it’s really just delaying the inevitable.
In the meantime, I am more than happy to escape NY and it’s evil Justice Reform bill. This is one of the atrocities associated with that law put forth by the dems.
Shooting suspects lawyer demands tour of private house

The justice reform law allows the criminal the RIGHT to tour the house where the crime was committed for the purpose of crime scene investigation prior to the trial instead of depending on the police dept to do it.
As if they are trained people.
Your post in post 190 said this, (copied and pasted)
Quote.....”Im saying its a flu.” Unquote.
That’s not saying that you THINK it’s a flu. That’s saying it is.
I have vitriol towards these folks. They could well end up with blood on their hands by convincing people to be reckless and not preparing. It should be crystal clear to anyone with a brain that this is far far worse than a regular flu. The evidence is overwhelming.
Seriously???
So tired of this ‘it’s just the flu’ carp.
Right....so many countries put ENTIRE provinces/towns and hospitals on COMPLETE lock down....over JustTheFlu
Unreal.
Amazing isn’t it? Maybe going into paranoid land, but starting to wonder if some of these “JustAFlu” types have an agenda (paid shills for various orgs that want people docile and unprepared, investment “advisers” caught on the wrong side, Gov shills to calm markets). Or, they could really just be this stupid.
Actions speak louder than stats.
Watching China’s reaction to this virus tells me that it’s far more serious than we’ve been told.
I’m having trouble remembering the last time they shut down entire cities over a virus...........
And other countries are reacting in like manner, which also tells me they know something we don’t.
I plan on doing my darndest to not get this.
If I do, I do and my life is in god’s hands, but I am NOT taking stupid chances.
Me? I'm gonna go get another beer and embalm myself. 🍺
Exactly.....thus far not a single death in the US for this virus and few actual cases.... thank God we have the medical teams we do.
As for the media pushing this.....well they always pounce on anything that will keep people engaged, like storms predicted etc. it’s one thing to keep people informed but this is over the top.
This is a giant red flag for me too. Whenever anyone says "well it's no worse than the flu quit panicking" I ask them why they think different governments are doing the same thing: instituting draconian quarantine measures. If it's not that bad then why bother? What other theory would they have for governments taking these steps?
.....” two weeks worth of food, water, and medicines will result in a run on those items”......
Storms, floods, hurricanes etc. all require this. I think we can handle it.
Thanks. I am watching the mortality rates on this though.
After a few more days, I can start seeing trends in the Global Outside China figurs.
It still too early to see large groups of people being seen as recovered, because that generally happens two to three weeks after the largest groups of people who are assessed to have the disease.
Once I can see that trend building, I’ll be able to get a better feel for how the mortality rate is trending.
For those of us who do this every storm season, yes. But others will take “two weeks” to mean “take everything in sight off of the shelves.”
Sorry your battling the flu.....had it a couple years ago and took a month to get fully beyond it...and the cough lingered even beyond that. Hope your well soon....
Well I’m set for whatever as, like you, I do this every winter so I don’t have to go out on bad weather days. Plus there’s three grocery stores, of one form or another, in walking distance....I’ve never seen any of them cleared out or closed down.....I also stay away from hospitals just as a matter of fact since the flu seems to raise it’s head every year.
So there’s nothing more I can do then isn’t already being done.
