A former Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) employee has pleaded guilty to charges related to the leaking of classified information to two journalists, the Justice Department (DOJ) said.
Henry Kyle Frese, 31, pleaded guilty on Thursday to the willful transmission of top-secret national defense information to journalists. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
Frese was arrested when he arrived to work at a DIA facility in Virginia in October last year where he worked as a counterterrorism analyst. The 31-year-oldwho held top-secret government security clearancewas accused of helping the journalists research information on a classified United States government computer system and providing them with classified information from five intelligence reports that he accessed, according to court documents. Some of the information was related to the capabilities of certain foreign countries weapon systems. DOJ officials said the information in the report was outside the scope of Freses job duties as an analyst.
One of the journalists (referred to as journalist one)who appeared to be in a relationship with Fresepublished eight articles that contained the classified information from the reports between May and July of 2018.
According to court documents, Frese and journalist one lived at the same residential address from January 2018 to November 2018 and followed each other on Twitter. Moreover, Frese re-posted at least two of journalist ones Twitter posts announcing the publication of articles containing the sensitive information.
During one incident in April 2018, journalist one asked him whether he was willing to speak to another journalist from a different news outlet. Frese said he would if it helped journalist one to progress, court documents said.

They don’t seem to be talking about this on tv. Weird, right?
So they nail some GS 7/9 schmuck while the Director class skates on their merry way.
You’d think that part of the vetting process for employees that handle highly classified information is that they are not living with or related to journalists.
Next, the journalists who published the info and their editors.
Comey leaked, McCabe lied and I think leaked, no problem, right?
So SOMETIMES they do prosecute people for leaking.........
This guy will probably get a slap on the hand. Meanwhile Roger gets 3.5 years.
+1 Epoch Times...
They wanted Stone for 7 to 9 years. ..no top secret info either. ....this traitor. ..up to 10 years. ....fire all government
that Senate Intel Committee guy Wolfe did the EXACT SAME THING—> 3 months
Remember when Obama folks raided AP offices and their phone records for a 2 month period back in 2013? They were outraged. But they continued loving Obama and his wing man.
Oh and James Wolfe, Senate Intelligence aid, leaked info to a journalist he was having an affair with in 2018. He got 2 months in jail. He lied repeatedly to the FBI about his contacts with 3 journalists. He was facing up to 5 years in prison. Prosecutors wanted 2 years but the Judge gave him 2 months.
So, how come Vindman doesn’t face the same?
Bolton’s book supposedly contained TS/SCI info. And Vindman leaked it.
Certainly no 7-9, but since it doesnt involve Dem candidate malfeasance itll probably be substantial.
He actually should be hung for treason.
He must be worse than Hillary. How many tens of thousands of felony violations did he commit?
If you ask me, the journalists and their employers should be prosecuted for knowingly accepting stolen property.
This case has been going on for a while.
The idiot, who’s twitter is now protected, is a virulent anti-Trumper
The reporter/traitor he was leaking to
The first story Macias published based on his leaks
Apparently, some of his leaks wrt North Korea and China were significantly damaging.
And McCabe goes free...nice
