The United States Air Force updated its official dress code policy this month, in observance of religious practices, to allow military personnel to wear turbans or hijabs as a part of the uniform.
The Air Force released an update to the Dress and Personal Appearance of Air Force Personnel code on Feb. 7, now permitting airmen to request a waiver to wear religious apparel while in uniform as long as they are neat and conservative.
The material used for headwear must resemble the color of the assigned uniform. This includes camouflage, and must be worn in a fashion that presents a professional and well-groomed appearance.

Well, I am gratified that it wasnt the Navy out in front on this for once.
Uniforms are supposed to bolster unit cohesion. Now, they will reflect the uniformity of a zoo display.
Oh great - camouflaged hijabs.
Glad Im retired.
Sikh’s are good people.
Just plain wrong.
I find it difficult to believe that the CinC would allow this.
Perfect. At least it will be easier to identify the enemy.
The bowl NHL hockey game last night was in Colorado Springs and featured the USAF students. They had gathered around the half time show stage listening to what passed for entertainment. My steady impression was not very manly. More like high screwl students than academy cadets.
Diversity is a scourge.
How the hell are they going to get a turban and beard under a helmet and oxygen mask in the airplane? Not funny or trying to be so.
Trump? Where are you on this? Looks like more defiance to me.
How about a sombrero ?
Maybe so but they need to be in a standard uniform.
U.N.I.F.O.R.M.... Guess the cross dressers at the Pentagon forgot that memo about uniform means.
“Sikhs are good people”.
Yes, they are. And they detest Muslims.
Well to be completely fair in fostering diversity, the military should allow people to join even if they can’t speak English.
I mean, after all, diversity is our strength! Right?
My brother in law is now a full bird colonel in the Air Force. I originally made the assumption that he was a conservative; but he ascended through the ranks during the Obama years. When he was up visiting last year, his full on liberalism was quite obvious. We know other retired Air Force Colonels who are just as bad.
Cross-dressing???
It is the standard now. As long as there is a high standard, having a beard or turban is irrelevant. Society changes how they appear, the military adapts to change. If the battlefield requires changing such appearances, then it can be changed again.
Can decadence be reversed once it has infected a society?
If your religion requires you to wear a given garb maybe you should consider a different career path than one that has its own dress code.
If you don't want to wear the Uniform don't join the service.
Just try to wear a cross, crucifix, or St Christopher, and hear the cries of separation of church and state.
