The girls behind the lawsuit argue that the biological male students prevent them from obtaining track titles and scholarship opportunities.
The girls are Selina Soule, a senior at Glastonbury High School, Chelsea Mitchell, a senior at Canton High School and Alanna Smith, a sophomore at Danbury High School. They are being assisted with their lawsuit by the conservative nonprofit Alliance Defending Freedom. The suit names the Connecticut Association of Schools-Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference and the boards of education in Bloomfield, Cromwell, Glastonbury, Canton and Danbury.
Mentally and physically, we know the outcome before the race even starts, Smith, who is the daughter of former Major League pitcher Lee Smith, told ABC News. That biological unfairness doesnt go away because of what someone believes about gender identity. All girls deserve the chance to compete on a level playing field.
An attorney for the girls told ABC that allowing trans students to compete against them reverses advancements in womens rights.
Forcing girls to be spectators in their own sports is completely at odds with Title IX, a federal law designed to create equal opportunities for women in education and athletics, attorney Christiana Holcomb said. Connecticuts policy violates that law and reverses nearly 50 years of advances for women.
The Connecticut Association of Schools-Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference says that they are simply complying with federal and state laws that say students must be treated as the gender they identify as.
The suit stems from two transgender runners, Terry Miller and Andraya Yearwood, who have competed against all of the girls, winning 15 girls state indoor or outdoor championship races since 2017 between the both of them.
Our dream is not to come in second or third place, but to win fair and square, Mitchell said. All were asking for is a fair chance.
The argument needs to be framed as individuals who have been significantly exposed to a known performance enhancing substance (testosterone) should be prohibited from competition with those who have never been so exposed.
This would exclude some XX persons as well as most, but not all, XY persons.
Make it about the performance enhancer NOT biological sex.
I'd like someone in the legal profession to explain to me how the law could possibly treat women and girls competing separately in "public" sports events differently than it treats segregated bathrooms.
Should protect girls and boys sports from each other and definitely the trans-groups.

LOL! I suppose even liberals have their hierarchy of how to rank their causes. The irony is when one group votes against their better self-interest.
“Next the liberals will divide all competition by skin color and religion.”
This is sounding like a Monty Python track meet.
As it turns out I am a lawyer. However I dont really think this is a legal issue. The bottom line is that if women dont stand up for their own rights then no one else is going to do so for them. They need to make a stink. If they did that, then this would stop. If women dont insist that they are entitled to segregated bathrooms without having to share them with men who claim they are women, then non-gender specific bathrooms will become the rule. If they complain, then it will stop. That is why I support what these girls are doing.
About time.
Bingo!!! The consequences of a moral and mental disorder.
About time!
It’s about time!!!
Good for them.
Excellent! It’s about time for SOMEBODY to speak up. Now if all the rest of the students and the parents of students all joined in, they might be able to fix the problem.
As a lifelong Phillies fan, I’ll always remember him giving up a game winning grand slam to Mariano Duncan in 1993, when he pitched for St. Louis.
Selina Kyle was...Catwoman.
Finally. Good luck to these girls with their case.
Knowing the liberal mind, I'm going to bet that they double-down on the retardedness, and come up with something even more ridiculous.
The "Upper Class 'Twit of the Year'" sketch
I have to say that it is time girls decided to fight. I’m impressed by the girls (one from a small City near the New York state line, One is a large town that is a suburb of Hartford and the third is a small town that is ruralish). Amazing. Hope other girls will join...
Sad for the girls but womankind brought this sh*tstorm of Feminism that now devours women. It may be too late to be “woke” and “walk away” from this new normal of post-Obamaism.
