More cuts are coming soon at the White House National Security Council, National Security Adviser Robert OBrien said, as part of an effort to make the council streamlined and efficient and to make sure the council staffers are dedicated to carrying out policies chosen by President Donald Trump.
Its really a privilege to work in the White House. Its not a right, OBrien added. At the end of the day, the president is entitled to staffers that want to execute his policy, that he has confidence in, and I think every presidents entitled to that.
When they come to the White House, they serve as the presidents personal staff and it is our view that while they are at the National Security Council, they should not represent the views of their parent agencies or departments, he said. Theyre not there as liaison officers, and they certainly shouldnt represent their own personal views.
The president has to have confidence in the folks on his National Security Council staff to ensure that they are committed to executing the agenda that he was elected by the American people to deliver, OBrien said. The National Security Council shouldnt be a mini State Department, a mini Pentagon, a mini Department of Homeland Security.

The smaller the better.
This should actually be a tightly knit circle of close confidants. The bigger it gets the more likely secrets are to leak.
EXCELLENT. Clean out the entrenched heads of every agency you can. Find out WHO hired them and when. If they had start under Clinton or Obama GET RID OF THEM.
AMEN!
Any questions, REMFS?
Cut? They misspelled ‘eliminat(e|ion)’
We don’t need a big bloated bureaucracy feeding at the trough.
Maybe not others, but I have been genuinely shocked to see military personnel, and civil service employees openly oppose the President. Where possible, firings, transfers, and draconian budget cuts need to be made.
Good bye Eric C.
” I have been genuinely shocked to see military personnel, and civil service employees openly oppose the President.”
In my experience, attitudes feed from the top down. I suspect that this open disdain is happening because it’s being shared and openly abetted by the leadership in their bureaucracies.
Drain that swamp Mr. President!
DJT may have to fire a few dozen to get get Eric. Like artillery pounding an area to get an embedded target.
Way past time for this.

I agree. There’s a whole generation of people who need an attention getter. I hope it starts with President Trump.
Can he fire Eric C. or is he under whistle blower
protection .....even if he’s lying?
A real whistle blower identifies himself and thereby gets protected from retaliation.
If no one knows who the whistle blower is, then if some guy gets fired, I don’t see how he can claim retaliation.
HOW DARE HE!!
In far too many cases, wholesale purges that should have been done at the start of his admin never occurred (e.g., all political-appointee State Dept officials and US Attorneys). Now that they’ve totally undermined him, he is picking some of them off, but with the ability of the MSM to paint it as in retribution.
And yes, this has to do with handing his transition staffing team over to, of all people, Jared Kushner.
State department needs to be next. Reduction or removal by about 80%
....”This should actually be a tightly knit circle of close confidants. The bigger it gets the more likely secrets are to leak”....
Exactly right!
