Arizona Introduces A Whopper Of An “Assault Weapon” Ban Bill
Concealed Nation ^ | 2/11/2020 | Carl Bussjaeger

Posted on 02/11/2020 5:37:29 PM PST by MacNaughton

Arizona Democrats have filed yet another “assault weapon” ban bill. This one is Senate Bill 1625. At first glance, with two notable stand-outs, it’s pretty much par for the gun-grabbing course; a ban on assaulty-looking guns with grandfathering.,p>

But the first notable item is just how inclusive this bill is. All semiautomatic rifles that take detachable magazines would become “assault weapons.” And almost all rifles with fixed magazines of greater than 10-round capacity; that includes your .22LR plinker.

That latter part is because of the second notable aspect of the bill; the ban on “large capacity” magazines and the definition of such.

3. “Large capacity magazine” means any ammunition feeding device with the capacity to accept more than ten rounds but does not include any of the following:

(a) A feeding device that has been permanently altered so that it cannot accommodate more than ten rounds.

(b) A twenty-two caliber tube ammunition feeding device.

(c) A tubular magazine that is contained in a lever action firearm. (emphasis added)

There’s a world of difference between .22 inches and twenty-two inches; 21.78 inches, to be precise, but Democrats appear to be incapable of precision.

Just to be clear: With the exception of lever guns, all “large capacity” — 10+ rounds — would be banned. Your semiauto or bolt-action rifle with a 10+ round magazine would have to be modified of disposed of even though it isn’t an “assault weapon.”

Whew! Your mag-fed Karl-Gerät is safe. But would a revolver cylinder count as a prohibited ammunition feeding device?

Perhaps I’m doing Arizona Democrats an injustice. Could it be that wasn’t a mistake, but something they were hoping would slide through unnoticed?

I thought AZ was marginally red/ purple?

Another state trying to re-introduce the 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban at the state level after the federal original expired/ sunset after 10 years.

NY & CT - 2013
VA - 2020

Has CA and HI already done this?

This bill has as much chance here as Andrew Yang has in becoming governor.

the first thing communists and nazis (like many leading the D party now) always do is to try to do is render their future slaves defenseless

fortunately we live in USA and we have over 400 million firearms (and millions more being purchased or made every day)

the dictator-wannabes will fail for sure

Here's my old tagline:
The government wants to disarm us after 243 yrs 'cuz they plan to do things we would shoot them for!
Even more true with Biden threatening to call in F-15 Hellfire airstrikes on Americans, and Eric Swalwell warning gun owners that any fight over firearms would be "a short one," because the federal government has an extensive cache of nuclear weapons.

So who did this? Who are the lizards who put this up? What chance does it have of being passed by the legislature and signed by Ducey?

You would rather us have elected Ann Kirkpatrick? That was the choice.

What about a .22 tubular fed rifle? Holds like seventeen rounds.

Hopefully (If this becomes law) that most of their Sheriffs will refuse to enforce it.

I know that there are several "Constitutional Sheriffs" in Arizona.

My daughter lives in Yuma. I will advise her to leave with my three grandchildren ASAP.

If this bill passes, the only humans with AR 15 and AK 47 weapons with large capacity magazines will be coming across the border.

GET OUT! GET OUT NOW!

The deep state NRSC circles their wagons (and $$$) around the incumbents, to smear any primary challengers.

Like with Big John Cornyn, in TX.

It appears as though much “gun control” is being introduced with one hand while the other hand waves a corona in our face.
