Former New York City Mayor—and potential 2020 Democratic presidential candidate—Michael Bloomberg called efforts to legalize marijuana "perhaps the stupidest thing anybody has ever done."
Speaking at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, on Tuesday, Bloomberg said on the subject, according to WBNG-TV:
"We have a different kind of problem in America, for example. Last year, in 2017, 72,000 Americans [overdosed] on drugs. In 2018, more people than that are OD-ing on drugs, have OD'd on drugs. And today, incidentally, we are trying to legalize another addictive narcotic, which is perhaps the stupidest thing anybody has ever done. We've got to fight that, and that's another thing that Bloomberg Philanthropies will work on it in public health."

I can agree with Michael Bloomberg 100% on this. What were they smoking?
I do, too, on this issue.
But I disagree with him about everything else I’ve heard come from his mouth - and I’m really tired of the constant, pandering commercials.
(Is he ever going to stage a really entertaining and informative rally where he’d be on his own, without specialists directing and staging everything and making him look good? and how many people would show up?)

He’s right about pot BUT he’s making a big mistake in forgetting that he’s running for the Democratic nomination. Half their voters under 80 are stoned.
Right. It should be decriminalized and not legalized.
And marijuana is NOT a narcotic.
But what else do the democrats have?
This kind of thing may force democrats to simply accept the loss early and go with someone they believe in, rather than agree in their weird collectivist telepathy with each other way (mostly MSM) they must coalesce around Bloomberg and hold their noses.
If it took a Constitutional Amendment to ban alcohol, and if we have no such amendment banning marijuana, what IS the legitimate authority by which the federal government banning marijuana?
And if there IS no such legit authority, aren't you really saying, Mickey, that - regardless of your like or dislike for pot - supporters of the banning of marijuana (like you) also support the continued unlawful power grab by Leviathan?
Like you I don’t use it. No desire to. But I know people that do (some with medical cards and some vets with PTSD). If it helps them then fine. let them have it. I don’t see it screwing them up at all. It’s certainly not a gateway drug. They’re no more screwed up than anybody else as far as I can see.
