The White House on Sunday unveiled a $4.8 trillion budget proposal that would slash spending dramatically on foreign aid and social safety nets, while including $2 billion for a southern border wall and substantially boosting funding to NASA, the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Homeland Security.

People are working. Less need for the big safety net bucks.
To see the federal revenue, spending, and surplus/deficit from 1789 to 2024(est.), look at page 24 of this file:
https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/BUDGET-2020-TAB/pdf/BUDGET-2020-TAB.pdf
Here are the 2020 estimated numbers:
Revenue: $3,644,772,000,000
Spendung: $4,745,573,000,000
Annual Deficit: ($1,100,801,000,000)
I wonder how long the economy lasts while China is shut down?
If last years budget was 4.4 trillion and 4.4 trillion is being cut that means they are not spending ANYTHING this year? (Just pointing out the bogus headline)
If you read the article; that 4.4T cut would be over 10 years but I do get your drift.
Poor writing is all too common these days.
The 10 year forecast is always a scam. Never happens. Only thing that is going to fix it is a balanced budget amendment. One that also limits taxes and bases revenue on the proceeds from last year. (With this penalty: If the budget goes over anyone who signed on is not eligible for re-election next time, they have to wait 2 years before they can run for office again)
What? No more Obama phones on our dime?
SOCIAL SAFTEY NETS!!! this is what the article is all about, not defense, not foreign aid, SOCIAL SAFTEY NETS
thanks. I knew I saw somewhere that revenue was abt $3.6T. So we’re a trillion over income, but Congress wants to bellyache and add a few more trillion because, money is imaginary stuff to them.
influence
White House releases proposed budget later today...heard that it proposes a 15 year timeline to a balanced budget...what a joke if true. The House will decimate any budget proposal anyway...PDJT should propose a balanced budget now to show them how it is done.
Well there is that.
