Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz filed an ethics complaint against Nancy Pelosi that said the House Speaker possibly violated numerous House rules — and maybe even broke the law — by tearing up a copy of President Trump’s State of the Union speech.
The Florida legislator sent a letter to the House Committee on Ethics requesting they open an investigation and shared the missive on Twitter.
Gaetz wrote that “Speaker Pelosi’s gesture was deeply offensive and appears to violate clauses 1 and 2 of House Rule XXIII,” which dictate the House’s official code of conduct.
“Her behaviour does not ‘reflect creditably on the House,’ nor does it follow “the spirit and the letter of the Rules of the House.”
Gaetz, in his letter, said Pelosi’s “unseemly behaviour certainly warrants censure.”
The lawmaker asked that after conducting the ethics probe, the committee make referrals to the Department of Justice “for further investigation and prosecution.”
Pelosi, Gaetz alleges in the letter, “appears to be in violation” of a law that prohibits willfully destroying paper or documents “filed or deposited” in public office.
“There is no question that Speaker Pelosi ‘mutilated, obliterated, or destroyed’ the copy of the President’s address provided to her at the beginning of the evening,” Gaetz wrote, quoting language from the law.

I’m sure Tuna Nan’s handlers are preparing a non-apology/apology attack statement for this occasion.
I don’t expect it to happen, but it would be wonderful if they removed her from her position as Speaker. I believe that is what the law would require. You can’t “unelect” her, but she can lose her office.

A fine and three years in prison AND not able to hold public office again. Works for me Nancy is NOT above the law.
I want to know if her fellow Dems knew in advance what she was going to do. That strange three fingered salute...supposedly to indicate support for her being third in line for the presidency...makes me wonder about this.
Dear Rep. Gaetz,
Don’t care. People who saw it either watching it live or later will decide for themselves.
Focus on beating her and her party, and whatever evil they will do until We The People retake the House.

These two are prime examples as to why women should never have been given suffrage? They will take the country down any rabbit hole their twisted post menopause minds can find.
Nancy needs to retire or resign. Hillary needs to stop trying to interfere with the President, unless she wants to finally be indicted for her crimes.
Now he is trying too hard to make up for the war powers vote.
I think Nancy as speaker is ok. Taking her away from it disregards the replacing her. With whom? Nancy puts the face of the Gollum - like creature on the face of the Dems.
That contrast is part of what made the SOTU what it was

Republicans should not blow this out of proportion. The public reaction is sufficient. Perhaps, request a censure for her, but that is all.

Worked for the fed gov in the DoD for 30 years. There is something called a “fitness for duty test”. She should be forced to take it.
They need to file charges against her.
Restore the rule of law that the elites ignore.
No one will follow the law of this bad example continues.
